Under certain periods and historical conditions, relations among great powers often presents some stable basic modes with obvious characteristics, such as the Westphalian system, the Vienna system, and the Yalta system in European history, the chinese-barbarian system,Impact-Response system in the process of China's interaction with the outside world. The same is true of bilateral relations between major powers, such as the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union after the Second World War,and the strategic cooperative partnership between China and Russia since the end of the Cold War.The formation of the basic mode of bilateral interaction between great powers is the result of the complex intertwining of various factors, including the historical traditions of the two sides, the geographical environment, the way of life, the international system, the strategic goals, and so on.In a certain historical period, the basic mode of the interaction between great powers not only determines the internal affairs and diplomacy, but also the basic patterns and trends of the entire international situation.By examining the process of the evolution of the U.S.-Russia relationship after the Cold War,we can see that the interaction between these two great powers also presents a relatively stable and distinctive basic mode, namely strategic conflict-limited cooperation. This paper will sort out how this type of interactive relationship evolved, and use Braudel's historical research methods to examine its motivations, comprehensively understand this important bilateral relationship, and then enlightened the China's efforts to build a new type of big power relationship in the current era.In addition to the introduction and conclusion, this article mainly includes three parts:1.Historical review.A brief review of the U.S.-Russia relationship from the 18 th century to the collapse of the Soviet Union. It is mainly divided into two periods: the relationship between the United States and Tsarist Russia has undergone a process of evolution from friendship to deterioration. And the U.S.-USSR relationship is almost always in the "cold war".In order to analyze the causes of the interactive mode after the Cold War from a long-term perspective.2.The evolution of the basic mode of the U.S.-Russia relationship in the Post-Cold War era.Mainly with multiple restart failures and cycle deterioration as the entry point and clues,by dividing into three stages to sort out the conflicts and cooperation in the U.S.-Russia relationship in the past three decades.3.The causes of the basic mode of the U.S.-Russia Relationship in the Post-Cold War era.Based on the "long duration" theory of the French historian Charles braudel, this paper analyzes and explains the three-level factors that influence the formation of the U.S.-Russia interactive mode in the Post-Cold War Era.4.According to existing research, predict the evolution trend of the U.S.-Russia's interactive mode.
