Research On The Influence Of Women's Socioeconomic Status For Parents' Intergenerational Pension Support

With the development of the structure of modern Chinese society,the traditional family structure is changing.As the basis of endowment insurance,family intergenerational pension form is reforming.With education and job opportunities breaking gender discrimination,a growing number of women enjoy more equal education resources.The improvement of women's individual ability empowers more opportunities and equal rights in employment and income issues.All promotion of women's socioeconomic status makes women gradually cast off the yoke of the patriarchal family,more choices and autonomy rights.Thus the role of daughters and duty division in traditional patriarchal intergenerational pension are changing.This paper analyzes the roles and responsibilities of women,especially as daughters,in the support of family intergenerational support under the traditional Chinese filial piety culture and patriarchy system,on the basis of combing the pattern and change of traditional family intergenerational pension.At the same time,under the modern environment,though weakening,family support is still at the core of the pension system because of its strong informal care.Then,based on the data of CHARLS 2013,this paper uses multiple regression analysis to explore the impact of women's socioeconomic status on the level of intergenerational support.The study shows that the improvement of women's socioeconomic status,especially the improvement of education level,will greatly improve the support of parents in terms of emotional comfort,economic support and life care,but the overall level of women's participation in the pension support needs to be further improved.The number of brothers and sisters can greatly affect the amount and type of daughters' support to parents;urban family daughters to provide life care level is higher than rural areas;low birthrate background,high collar parents face empty nest and offspring of aging,Unable to obtain sufficient pension support,especially in life care.So as to raise the awareness of women's education and human capital investment;to further develop and improve the rich community service system for the elderly;to give low-necked elderly skills training,and better play its pension ability;pay attention to the family family culture propaganda and guidance,multi-party cooperation to address the status quo of aging issues.
