Study On China's Public Diplomacy To Pakistan Under The "Belt And Road" Initiative

As an effective supplement to traditional diplomacy,public diplomacy can increase the visibility,reputation and recognition of public diplomacy sponsors by enhancing the public interaction between public diplomacy sponsors and public diplomacy target countries.Since public diplomacy can create favorable international public opinion,shape a good national image,enhance a country's national soft power,and contribute to the implementation of foreign policy,it has gradually become an important part of the diplomatic strategy of the world.The “Belt and Road Initiative” is a major external initiative of China in the new era.It involves five areas: policy communication,facility connectivity,trade smoothness,capital finance,and people's heart.Obviously,it is a top priority to effectively and smoothly promote the construction of the “Belt and Road” and achieve the “community of the people”,and this obviously requires public diplomacy for countries along the “Belt and Road”.In view of the demonstration role of the “China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Construction” in promoting the “Belt and Road” construction and the negative perception of China in Pakistan,it is particularly important to carry out public diplomacy toward Pakistan.Since the " Belt and Road" initiative was put forward,China has carried out various forms of public diplomacy activities such as summit diplomacy,humanities diplomacy,and media diplomacy.It has achieved certain results,but it also faces imperfect media public relations and communication mechanisms.The official color is too strong,the participation of the private sector is insufficient,and the target of public diplomacy in Pakistan is not targeted.In view of this,in order to effectively improve China's effect on Pakistan's public diplomacy,it is necessary to strengthen the construction of a sound media communication mechanism,establish a diversified public diplomacy,and improve the targeting of Pakistan's public diplomacy.
