With the continuous prosperity of the knowledge economy,geographical indications as a special intellectual property,it plays a vital role in integrating regional resources?promoting economic restructuring and regional economic development.As a powerful weapon for all-round marketing in market competition,brand is of great significance to the improvement of the core competitiveness of geographical indications.The realization of the geographical indication branding will bring more opportunities for the development of regional characteristic economy.Guizhou Province is rich in natural resources and colorful national culture,potential geographical indication resources are very rich.With the introduction of brand strategy,the brand building of geographical indications has gradually been taken seriously.In recent years,some progress has been made in the construction of geographical indication brands in Guizhou,but overall it is still lagging behind.Among the more than 200 GI products registered,although some of the more well-known products have gained greater competitiveness in the domestic and foreign markets,there are very few brands with a value of over 100 million,the construction of GI brand has a long way to go.This paper first discusses the basic concepts of branding of geographical indications?brand and geographical indications,analysis of the main problems in the construction of current geographical indication brands by introducing the situation of geographical indication brand construction in Guizhou Province,finally,put forward legal advice in a targeted manner.
