Research On The Media Image Construction Of Female Soldiers In PLA Daily

Female soldiers have the dual identities of "soldier" and "female" and play a unique role in the modernization of the military.The construction of female soldiers' media images is an important part of the military's cultural soft power.However,due to the special nature of work and strict discipline requirements,the media image of female soldiers is vague and mysterious,and there are endless doubts about the group of female soldiers in the society.Film,television and literary works are the two main ways to shape the image of female soldiers.Therefore,this paper chooses the report of female soldiers in PLA daily as the object of analysis,returns to the news itself,and studies how the mainstream military media constructs the image of female soldiers and the media presentation of the image of female soldiers.This paper mainly adopts the method of content analysis and takes the female soldier reports of PLA daily from 2007 to 2018 as the sample database,a total of 168 reports are selected as analysis samples.Applying the theory of frame three-layer structure,the paper analyzes the thematic frame,schematic structure frame and expression frame of female military news reports from the macro,medium and micro levels.On this basis,drawing on previous studies,the author summarizes the media presentation of female military images from the three dimensions of physiological image,behavioral image and spiritual image,and analyzes the "change" and " changeless " of the media presentation of female military images." changeless " is the tone,"change" is the trend."Changeless" is mainly reflected in the narrative mode of "striving forward despite difficulties",the reporting motif of "women are not inferior to men",and the symbolic image of flowers."changeless" is mainly reflected in the subtle changes of the theme,subject and symbolic image of the report.The reasons of "change" and " changeless " are closely related to the media nature and style of PLA daily,military reform and changes in the policy environment and the promotion of the status of female soldiers.Finally,the paper analyzes the problems of constructing the female soldier's media image in PLA daily,then puts forward the corresponding improvement strategy,to enhance communication effect,make the female soldier become the "her voice" in China'sexternal propaganda,so that can better display the image of Chinese soldiers,the Chinese army and China's international image.
