Social nature is the fundamental attribute of society. To clarify social nature is the beginning of all social work.Since its founding in 1921,the Communist Party of China accepted Lenin's idea of "semi-colonial" and "semi-feudal" for modern China. The CPC learned from the actual revolutionary work that, modern Chinese society had the attributes of "semi-colonial" and "semi-feudal",thus clarified the revolutionary goals of anti-imperialism and anti-feudalism.Its initial understanding of "semi-feudalism" is mainly carried out from the political level of democracy and national unity. Therefore, the direction of the anti-feudal struggle began with the overthrow of the Beiyang warlords who represented the feudal forces, for which the CPC chose to cooperate with Kuomintang, the bourgeois party,to finish the national revolution. But the Kuomintang betrayed the revolution and the national revolution failed. Then, the CPC rethought why the revolution based on social attributes would fail. With the help of the Soviet Union and the Communist International, the Party had a clearer understanding of the social nature of modern China, and made it clear that modern China was a "semi-colonial and semi-feudal" society. From the perspective of economic basis, the Party theoretically demonstrated the modern "semi-feudal society",and clarified the meaning of "feudalism" and "semi-feudalism".The purpose of clarifying the nature of society is to intervene in reality.Faced with the social nature of "semi-colonial and semi-feudal" in modern China, the Communist Party of China realized that even after the failure of the national revolution, the nature of modern Chinese revolution was still bourgeois democratic revolution, and the task of anti-feudalism had not succeeded. Therefore, under the guidance of Marxism, the Party continued its anti-feudal struggle. To overthrow the "semi-feudal" society in modern China, the anti-feudal struggle of the CPC was carried out mainly in two aspects: first, overthrowing the Kuomintang regime representing the interests of the feudal forces at the political level and establishing a democratic regime;second, carrying out the land revolution at the economic level to overthrow the feudal land private ownership system and realize that "the tillers have their own rights".After the People's Republic of China was founded in 1949 with Kuomintang regime over in the mainland, and the "semi-colonial and semi-feudal" society overthrown,China entered into the age of new democratic revolution. On the other hand, the land reform was carried out nationwide, and the foundation of feudalism were gradually being eliminated. As a result, the Communist Party of China's anti-feudal struggle achieved significant victory.
