With the process of reform and opening-up,social changes,rural flowing population have become a huge group of immigrants.Migration for marriage as an important motivation of population migration and flows has caused more and more rural migrated women for marriage leave their hometown to seek better development.However,the complexity of rural areas and the own characteristics of migrated women for marriage who have lost their original social support make it difficult for them to adapt quickly to the life of their husband's family and local community.They have to face a series of stressors derived from unfamiliar environment in the place of immigration,such as custom differences,cultural differences and differences in climate and environment.How to improve their basic survival and development in the local area becomes a common problem faced by individuals,families and society.Therefore,the study of the social adaptation of rural migrated women for marriage is conducive to strengthening their social support weakened by long-distance migration for marriage,effectively helping them to better adapt to the life of immigrants.On the other hand,it helps to promote the self-development of rural migrated women for marriage,changing their psychology and behavior,and initiatively adopting positive coping styles to alleviate the stress and difficulties of adaptation,increasing their sense of belonging while promoting social harmony and family development.This paper uses the social survey data on the living conditions of rural married women by the Institute of Population and Social Policy,Xi'an Polytechnic University and the Health and Family Planning Bureau of Zhongshan City in Zhongshan,Guangdong Province in April 2017.This thesis mainly draws lessons from the existing research theories,based on the adaptation process,stress transformation and other relevant models,constructs the conceptual model of social support affecting the social adaptation of rural migrated women for marriage,and combines descriptive statistics,inferential statistical methods such as regression analysis to master the actual situation of social adaptation,social support and different coping styles of rural migrated women for marriage.Besides,it analyses whether there are differences in social adaptation and social support of this group under different individual and family characteristics.At last,the influence of different sources of social support perceived by rural migrated women for marriage on their social adaptation and the mediating role of their stress coping styles are further analyzed.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:Firstly,the social support perceived by rural migrated women for marriage mainly from their fellow-townsmen or friends,followed by the support of their mother's family,with the lowest recognition of the support from their mother-in-law.In addition,when facing stressors and difficulties in the local area,they adopt more positive and mature stress coping styles to solve problems,which undoubtedly shorten their adaptation process.Secondly,individual and family characteristics have different degrees of influence on the social adaptation and perceived social support of rural migrated women for marriage.In terms of individual characteristics,age,education level and whether there is work experience after marriage have remarkable effect on the social adaptation of rural migrated women for marriage,and for the social support perceived by this group,education level,personality and occupation become significant.In terms of family characteristics,whether the parents-in-law are alive or not and the number of brothers have remarkable effect on the social adaptation of rural migrated women for marriage,but for the perceived social support of this group no longer significant.Thirdly,social support from different sources have remarkable effect on the social adaptation of migrated women for marriage in rural China,and positive coping styles play a mediating role in the relationship between the support of fellow-townsmen and the social adaptation of this group.Both the support from natal family,husband's family and the fellow-townsmen and friends positively predicted the social adaptation of rural migrated women for marriage,but had no remarkable effect on their negative coping styles when facing stressors.In addition,the positive stress coping styles adopted by migrated women for marriage also affect their adaptation in husband's family and local community.Finally,based on the main research conclusions,this paper puts forward some suggestions to improve the living conditions of rural migrated women for marriage and enhance their social adaptability,in order to promote the attention of all walks of life to this special group's adaptation problem,and actively explore ways and methods to help them better and faster adapt to local life.It contains 9 figures,19 tables and 88 references.
