During the period from the end of World War II to the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Chinese communist party's policy towards the United States underwent many adjustments,in which Soviet factors played an important role.At the end of the war of resistance against Japan, under the premise that the relations between the United States and the Soviet union had been improved, the communist party of China actively sought to establish a good cooperative relationship with the United States in accordance with the actual needs of resisting Japan, suppressing the Kuomintang anti-communist forces and winning foreign aid,and implemented the policy of "uniting the United States to resist Japan".In the early postwar period, the United States established the policy of "supporting Chiang kaishek against the communist party",and the Soviet union ignored the Chinese revolution in order to protect its own interests. The Chinese communist party turned to seek a more flexible policy toward the United States in light of its own weakness and lack of external support. From the middle of March 1946,the continuous deterioration of China's domestic situation and the United States' support for Chiang kai-shek's regime made the Chinese communist party completely abandon the illusion of the United States and Chiang kai-shek,and gradually turned to comprehensive struggle against the United States.During this period, the cold war between the east and the west broke out,the US-Soviet relations deteriorated completely, and the Soviet union began to change its attitude on the Chinese revolution, providing strong support for the CPC both in terms of propaganda and materials. All these strongly urged the CPC to turn to the Soviet union and implement the policy of "united Soviet union against the United States".In 1949,when the Chinese communist party waswinning on the domestic battlefield,it put more emphasis on the relationship between the new China to be founded and other countries. In the context of the continued anticommunist stance of the United States, the communist party of China is determined to be "one-sided" toward the Soviet union and resolutely anti-American due to the need of post-war national construction and regime security.During this period, leaders of the two parties exchanged visits, which greatly deepened mutual trust and understanding between the two sides. The two sides also reached agreement on a number of major issues, and the relationship between the two parties gradually shifted to that between the two countries. If the communist party of China as a child had to take orders from Moscow in foreign affairs, its independence in foreign affairs is being strengthened as it matures. This independence is mainly reflected in the fact that the CPC makes its foreign policy according to its own actual needs rather than Moscow's instructions in its diplomatic practice, and also in the fact that the CPC has begun to understand how to use the contradictions of different parties to serve the interests of the revolution.Although Soviet factors had always had an important influence on the foreign policy of the communist party of China during this period, the communist party of China gradually changed from "passive" to "active" in the face of Soviet factors and began to take the initiative to use "Soviet factors" to serve its foreign relations. From this perspective, the "one-sidedness" of new China towards the Soviet union should be understood as a process in which the Chinese communist party takes the initiative to move towards the Soviet union in light of its own actual situation and an independent choice of the Chinese communist party's diplomacy.
