Trust in government(TG)states to citizen perceptions concerning the honesty and capability of the government about their services.Little attention has been paid to discover the adoption of e-government services from citizens' trust viewpoints.The past several decades have seen continual reduction of public trust in government.It is considered that the primary aim of this dissertation is that social media technology as new tools can help to establish citizen trust in e-government.E-government is a vital e-service that touches citizens'lives and influences their future interactions with their governments.Trust remains one of the vigorous concepts that dramatically predisposed e-government services.The characteristics of E-government or government 2.0 is to apply information technologies,such as,internet and social media technology Social media technology(SMT)helps the government to connect citizens to decision-making procedures and optimize policies.The study of social media technology usage by local government to establish trust in government of exceptional value for students of Public Administration.E-Government services present new technologies to civic life,but different countries apply different tactics in the process.They are distinguished by developed skills selected by citizens' interests.It is not surprising that many governments have difficulties with the deteriorating public trust in government.SMT will play a vital role in establishing trust in government through its services among citizens.Conversely,e-government services in Bangladesh have been newly joining in the commitment of local e-services to rural peoples.This study focuses on one of the major local government institutions,namely Union Digital Central,where e-services will be provided with the help of SMT.This study selected four Union Parishad,where most of the people are using Facebook technology in their regular lives.Earlier researches in e-government services,advantages of social media technology,and trust in local government are absorbed very little.The present study focused on institutional theory and social cognitive theory,on establishing trust in local e-government services applying social media technology;to fill up these research gaps.With the help of SPSS 21 and LISREL software,the compiled data has been analyzed.We use a quantitative research method,in which we use Structural Equation Modeling(SEM)to analyze and test goodness of fit of research models to discover the consequence of the relationships proposed.Finally,400 respondents' sample has been selected randomly altogether from four Union Parishad in Bangladesh.This research suggests a model that reflects how e-government services(i.e.,mimetic mechanism,coercive mechanism,normative mechanism)establishing citizen trust in local government through social media technology.Survey data shows that attitude toward using social media technology decide the influence of e-government services.Besides the direct effects,social media technology is having an indirect effect on trust in government.Current results promote expressively how citizen engagement inclined through the category of social media technology implemented.Based on the empirical outcomes,we complete with implications and provide recommendations aimed at future work.
