A Study On Social Work's Involvement In Cultural Integration Of Multi-ethnic Communities In Chengdu

The integration of ethnic culture in urban communities has attracted much attention from all walks of life,and social work is an important carrier to promote the integration and development of ethnic culture.W community is a multi-ethnic urban community.Because of different ethnic cultures,there is less cultural exchange among community residents,and even there are conflicts and conflicts among ethnic groups.Ethnic groups live in urban communities and need to integrate into urban life,develop and spread ethnic culture.Social work can respond to the needs of cultural development of ethnic groups.This paper takes the ethnic cultural integration project of W community as an example,through participating in the ethnic cultural integration project of W community,to understand the basis and contradictions of urban multi-ethnic community cultural integration,and specifically study how social work promotes the practice of ethnic cultural integration in multi-ethnic urban communities.Based on the theory of embeddedness,this paper analyzes the practice of social work involving multi-ethnic cultural integration in W community from three dimensions:cultural embeddedness,resource Embeddedness and relationship embeddedness.In the aspect of cultural embeddedness,social workers carry out the activities of national cultural integration from three aspects:the sharing and dissemination of community multi-ethnic culture,the inheritance and exploration of community multi-ethnic culture,and the education and learning of community multi-ethnic culture,so as to promote the development of different ethnic cultures in the community and promote the integration of ethnic culture;in the aspect of resource embeddedness,social workers actively communicate and coordinate with the community In terms of relationship embedding,social workers strive to build formal support system and informal support system to provide support for community residents.In the practice of ethnic cultural integration,social workers use the working methods of groups and communities,according to the actual situation of W community and the needs of community residents,carry out rich and colorful ethnic cultural theme activities,and promote the integration of ethnic cultures.Through the analysis of the practice of ethnic cultural integration,the following conclusions can be drawn:first,social work involved in ethnic cultural integration has conceptual and professional advantages,which can respond to the needs of social development and the needs of cultural integration,cultural development and cultural communication of different ethnic groups.Second,due to the particularity of ethnic social work,social workers and ethnic minority residents have obstacles in language exchange,values,cultural beliefs and other aspects,so social workers should also solve the problems of obstacles with ethnic minority residents in the practice of activities.Third,social workers need to have cultural competence in practice,pay special attention to cultural sensitivity and learn and respect different cultures and customs.
