Research On The Willingness Of Ethnic Floating Population To Settle Down In Cities From The Perspective Of Cultural Adaptation

According to the statisyics of the Migrant Population Service,National Health Commission,by 2019,the number of floating population in China was about 236 million,of which about one-tenth of the minority population.With the deepening of industrialization,urbanization and agricultural modernization,more and more ethnic minority migrants have migrated to cities to produce and live.To make them settle in the city is not only the meaning of the new urbanization construction,but also an important link for doing a good job in urban ethnic work and strengthening national unity.Due to ethnic specialities in language,customs,and lifestyles,the floating population of ethnic minorities have problems and difficulties in their adaptation and integration into the city.Therefore,to understand the basic situation of the floating population of ethnic minorities in the city,and to analyze which factors will affect the willingness of the floating population of the minority to settle in the city in the context of cultural adaptation,so that it can enrich interdisciplinary research on cultural adaptability of ethnic minority floating population and provide targeted suggestions for promoting the urbanization of minority migrants.Based on the 2017 national mobile population dynamic monitoring data,this paper constructs an analytical framework of employment development,social participation,cultural acceptance and identity based on the perspective of cultural adaptation theory,and it conducts an empirical study on the basic situation of urban minority migrants,their willingness to settle down and its influencing factors.First,in the descriptive statistics,it is found that 40.6%of the minority migrants are willing to settle in the city,34%are unwilling to settle down,and 25.4%are not considered to be settled,the willingness of urban minority migrants to settle down is not high.Then,through multivariate disorder logistic regression analysis,the influence of different factors on the willingness of minority migrants to settle in cities is studied.The results show that the employment industry,monthly income level and monthly income change in employment development have significant effects;The impact of leisure participation,volunteer association activities,government advice,and social welfare in social participation is significant;The differences in customs preferences and health habits in cultural acceptance are significant;The willingness to integrate into the identity of locals and locals in identity is significant.Finally,based on the analysis of influencing factors,this paper proposes the following policy recommendations:broaden employment opportunities,strengthen vocational skills training;raise income levels and protect legitimate rights and interests;promote the feelings of urban residents and the floating population of ethnic minorities;improve the ways of social participation of the floating population of ethnic minorities;raise the level of cultural governance of the floating population of ethnic minorities;improve the sense of identity of the floating population of ethnic minorities.
