Research On Tujia And Miao Nationality In Western Hunan And Anti-Japanese War

To win the war of Anti-Japanese War,the people of the Tujia and Miao Ethnic group in the west of Hunan Province have engaged into the ranks of the fighting.This paper,which mainly takes their stories of Anti-Japanese War as the research object,seeks to present their specific performance in the war of resistance against Japan,summarizing their historical contributions.During the Anti-Japanese War period,the national government carried out conscription activities in western Hunan,mobilizing the local people and call on them to join the army actively.Besides,Chinese Communist Party established the organizing committee,and formed special institutions and professional bodies,to publicize the anti-Japanese and national salvation movement.As the result,local forces began to awaken and protest,implementing internal self-mobilization.With the increasing tension of the war situation,a large area of land was occupied,and the war continued to expand to the central and Western regions.A crop of organs,units and people began to move to western Hunan.From then,the west of Hunan Province has become an important place for military supplies,material transfer and refugee shelter in wartime.The people of western Hunan not only actively joined the army to fight on the front lines,but also carried out support activities in the rear area.The Tujia and Miao compatriots in Western Hunan contributed their strength to the war by caring about,supporting and devoting themselves to it in various ways.Hunan province,as the main battlefield in the later period of Anti-Japanese War,it cannot achieve success in the war without the participation and support of the people of the Miao and Tujia Ethnic group in western Hunan.For individuals,when they attended to the war of resistance against Japan,their national consciousness greatly awakened,and the sense of nation strengthened rapidly.For nation,their participation and efforts have expanded the contingent of the entire national united front,and also improved the group cohesion and combat effectiveness of the Chinese nation.
