At present,China is facing a very serious trend of aging, and the problem of providing for the aged has attracted more attention. With the development of social economy, people's living conditions have generally improved, the proportion of children living separately from the elderly has increased, and the opportunities for the elderly to meet their children have decreased. At the same time, the concept and mode of intergenerational support have changed, the tradit ional filial piety ethics has been impacted, the children's intergenerational demand for parents has increased, and the phenomenon of "gnawing old" has been increasing.Under these new backgrounds, more and more elderly people have lonely psychological pro blems.Loneliness has caused serious distress to the life and physical and mental health of the elderly, and the elderly with serious loneliness have higher deception probability and suicide tendency. Therefore,it is of practical significance to pay atten tion to and study the loneliness of the elderly.Based on the data of the CHARLS micro-survey in 2015,this paper uses Ologit model to study the influence of three intergenerational support factors, namely, economic material support, care support and emotional connection,on the loneliness of the elderly.Under different living conditions and household registration, the influence of intergenerational support on loneliness of the elderly is significantly different. In terms of economic and material support, from the perspective of differences in living styles, the elderly living with their children are positively affected by their children's economic and material support variable, while the elderly living separately from their children are not significantly affected by this variable;from the perspective of urban-rural differences, economic and material support has a significant effect on improving the loneliness of urban elderly, and loneliness of rural elderly. There was no significant effect. In terms of care support, from the perspective of differences in living styles, the elderly living separately from their children can reduce their loneliness to a great extent by caring for their grandchildren. The effect of receiving care from their children on their l oneliness is not significant. The elderly living with their children receiving care from their children has a negative impact on their loneliness.Providing care support from generations to generations has a negative impact on their loneliness. From the perspective of urban-rural differences, providing intergenerational care can help to alleviate the loneliness of the elderly in rural areas, and receiving child care has a negative impact on the loneliness of the elderly in rural areas, while receiving care and providing care has no significant impact on the elderly in urban areas. In terms of emotional connection, from the perspective of residential differences,non-cohabitant children use communication tools to improve the loneliness of the elderly,non-cohabitant children visit home to reduce the loneliness of the elderly.Under the condition of separate living, the two variables have no significant effect on the loneliness of the elderly;from the perspective of urban-rural differences,non-cohabitant children use communication tools to improve the loneliness of the elderly in rural areas. The sense of loneliness had no effect on the loneliness of the urban elderly, and no significant effect was found on the elderly who came home to visit the city and the countryside with their non-cohabiting children.
