China’s population aging shows the characteristics of large scale, fast speed and deep degree, which directly increases the pressure of intergenerational pension At the same time,it also brings a huge impact to the traditional family pension model. With the increasingly serious problem of aging,China pays more and more attention to the construction of social security system, and the basic old-age insurance system for urban and rural residents has been fully established.Compared with China’s traditional method of support, the family support system, the pension insurance system to a certain extent ensures the long-term fixed source of income of residents, greatly guarantees the residents’ old age life, and even enables the elderly to provide life assistance for their children under the premise of meeting their own living needs. So,can urban and rural housing protection systems affect the flow of intergenerational resources? Can it replace "family pension" ? This article explores these issues.First of all, this paper analyzes how the social security system affects intergenerational support on the basis of the theory of intergenerational support.According to the availability of data, the data of 2013 and 2018 CHARLES are selected, and considering the classification and flow direction of intergenerational resources, variables will be set from multiple angles to represent intergenerational support of families.Since the explanatory variables are all dummy variables, the empirical part uses the ordered Probit model for regression to explore the impact of basic old-age insurance of urban and rural residents on intergenerational support of families. At the same time, the robustness test of the results is carried out by selecting two methods: increasing variables and replacing models. In addition,in view of the characteristic differences of different groups, this paper conducts a heterogeneous analysis from three aspects: region(urban and rural),the number of children, and whether they live with their spouses, and explores whether the degree of effect of basic old-age insurance for urban and rural residents on intergenerational support of families is different among different groups.Studies show that urban and rural home insurance does not have a crowded effect on "children’s pensions," and conversely, the existence of urban and rural home insurance helps children and parents support uptime. It didn’t have a big impact. On the other hand, urban and rural housing security systems have not affected the financial support parents provide to their children, but older people for intergenerational care. From a heterogeneous perspective, older people in rural areas, older people in non-only child(descendant)households, and older people without a spouse are more likely to receive financial support and care for their grandchildren. Therefore,in this paper, the Chinese government continuously develops and improves the social endowment insurance system at the policy level, rationally adjusts the payment grade of urban and rural home insurance pensions, and at the same time multifaceted endowment resources.Suggests that it needs to be integrated.Create a variety of donation models.
