A Study On The Influence Of New Media's Police Reports On Police-civil Relations

This paper focuses on the relationship between police report in the new media and police community relationship.Aiming at the current situation of frequent police-related incidents in China,the papaer takes the current status and impact of police reports in the new media platform as the starting point.Taking the relevant theories of communication as the theoretical basis of this paper,research methods such as questionnaire survey,text analysis and content analysis are used for research.At the same time,software ROST and social science statistical software SPSS were used to process and analyze the research samples and survey data.The research process of this paper draws on the three steps of George Gebner's cultural index research,and follows the path of "objective reality-media reality-audience reality".First of all,I combed through the literature,combined with the Ministry of Public Security,the National Statistical Yearbook,and field survey data,to basically grasp the objective reality of China's police affairs and the objective image of the police.Secondly,according to the current situation of police reports in the new media,I selected the warning channels published by the three media on the new media platform(weibo)in the past three years as the research objects,and used content analysis and text analysis to discover the current new media in China.The content characteristics,reporting framework and media image of police reports.I then distributed questionnaires to the public through Internet channels to obtain data on the effects of new media police reports and the evaluation of police-civilian relations,and to study the public perception of the reality of police-civilian relations in China and the impact of new-media police reports on police-civilian relations.Finally,compare the objective reality,media reality,and audience reality,analyze the performance of the new media police reports in performing the three functions of reflecting objective police reality,supervising police work,and communicating with police and civilians,and influence the relationship between police and civilians.The problems in media police reports set out and put forward suggestions for building a harmonious police-civilian relationship.As an exploratory research in the field of police-civilian relationship construction from the perspective of communication,the research conclusion of this paper is:(1)The presentation of police reports by the new media is selective,and the reporting position isvery clear.The reality of insufficient police resources in China is made up by strengthening positive reporting.(2)Under the effect of the "look-up effect",the police image created by the new media can be summarized into three categories,namely,"hero" image,"guardian" image,and "public servant" image.(3)There are six relatively fixed frames in the police reports in the new media,namely the emotional frame,the attribution frame of responsibility,the result identification frame,the legal education frame,the moral evaluation frame and the fact frame.(4)Influenced by network culture,the discourse expression reported by the police reports in the new media has to a certain extent dispelled the police authority,enriched the media image of the police,and narrowed the psychological distance between the police and the public.(5)New media police reports have a positive impact on police-civilian relations.The new media has warned that by shaping a good police image,strengthening the public's trust in police organizations,and guiding the public to think and express rationally,they construct the public's conceptual reality,thereby promoting the construction of police-civilian relations.
