After the Rohingya crisis happened in myanmar in 2017,the Modi government of India adopted a series of policy responses, including expelling illegal Rohingya immigrants in India, supporting myanmar in its fight against terrorism, providing humanitarian assistance to Bangladesh, urging the government of Myanmar to offer conditions for the voluntary return of the Rohingya and helping Myanmar develop its Rakhine state. The formulation of this policy is based on the goal of realizing the national security and economic interests of India. The policy reflects the realism and flexible characteristics of balance. The traditional Indian-Muslim religious contradictions in India,as well as the Hindu nationalist tendencies of the BJP and the need to fight agaist terrorism are the domestic drivers of the Modi government's response to the Rohingya crisis, while the international drivers mainly to serve the Modi government's foreign policy of "East Action" and "Neighbours First",as well as to balance and weaken China's influence in myanmar. The Modi government's policy on Rohingya crisis in 2017 has both advantages and disadvantages. It seems difficult to fully achieve its policy expectations in the short term. However, there has been many challenges in the implementation process.During the second term of Modi's administration, the drivers of his policy on Rohingya crisis are unlikely to change much, the policy will be maintained in his second term of administration.
