Homework refers to the assignments which students finish at home after school.The Chinese homework for middle school students is an important part of the whole Chinese teaching system.It's a continuation of the Chinese courses within school,and a consolidation of the Chinese courses at school in the daytime.So it's a good way to improve the efficiency of classroom teaching.Since the new curriculum reform,students do have less learning burden and more efficiency.But some problems of traditional homework system still exist,such as the large quantity but single and boring content and form with lots of monotony practice.Some students even choose extreme ways to end their lives due to the heavy homework burden.Therefore,the design of homework in Chinese lessons has attracted much attention.Constructivism theory from the perspective of philosophy and psychology,emphasizes the students' learning process has the characteristics of initiative,situational,and collaborative.The author used constructivism learning theory for reference,and introduced this theory into Chinese homework design for junior middle school students,to optimize the homework design,and improve the effectiveness of the assignments,and therefore to promote the comprehensive development of students.This article,based on the current situation of the Chinese homework,analyzes the causes of the problems,discusses the objectives and requirements of homework design,from the perspective of constructivism theory,combined with the spirit of the language new curriculum standard.And some specific cases are included to test it.This paper will be discussed from the following five parts.The introduction part mainly introduces the reason of topic selection,the research purpose,research status and the research steps and methods.The study reflects that the current Chinese homework has the following problems:students' cognitive biases about Chinese homework,passive attitude on homework,mechanical ways in doing homework and low efficiency and so on.Aimed at the situation,this article analyzed the causes from students,parents,schools and teachers four aspects.This paper introduced the origins and characteristics of constructivism theory,illustrated the objectives and requirements of homework design from the perspective of constructivism theory,and advised teachers to design homework with more diversity and social interaction.Some practical researches about Chinese homework design are conducted in this paper.The Chinese homework is not only an important way to consolidate the language knowledge,but also an important method to cultivate students' personality,improve their aesthetic interest and thus helps them to form the healthy personality.Therefore,the design should not only reflect expectations of parents and teachers but also pay attention to students' personalities and characteristics.To sum up,the Chinese homework design should on the one hand help to solve the current existing problems,and on the other hand make the function of homework to get into effective practice.
