Teaching and research section' activities are very important to the construction of the teaching and research section for they play the role of carrier,however,the investigation of the activities of primary schools has found that there still exists some problems that are worth research and discussion.Teachers' needs should be undoubtedly given priority in school teaching and research section's activities in current society that takes people's needs as the priority.Only by understanding teachers' needs for the activities,taking teachers as the priority and the needs as the guidance,we can make the activities achieve better results and play the role of it to its maximum function and promote the teachers' professional development.This paper adopts documentary and investigation method,takes the teaching and research section of Gaoyao District primary school in Zhaoqing city as the research object and deeply investigates the needs of teachers there and the current situation of the teaching and research section of the school.What the investigation has found are as follows: Firstly in the aspect of the contents of teaching and research section' activities,teachers have strong needs for activities like“the analysis of the teaching materials and teaching methods”,“the analysis of the course standards”,“the learning of teaching design,the analysis of studying condition”,“how to carry out small research projects that are more pertinence and practical according to the real problems in their teaching practice”,“project learning”,and “the research methods in the fields of educational scientific research”.The second part is that in the field of teaching methods,teachers expect more activities like demonstration classes of famous teachers,teaching cases seminar,and expert seminar,etc.The third part is that in the aspect of the achievements they want to get,teachers want to improve their teaching ability,teaching,scientific and research ability and the professional knowledge in teaching and research section's activities.The fourth part is that what teachers need most are sufficient educational fees,rich book or internet resources,abundant time and dense research and learning atmosphere.Different teachers have different requirements for teaching andresearch section' activities in primary school especially when they talk about specific contents and methods.However,teachers have reached an agreement on the purpose of teaching and research section's activities--the improvement of teaching ability,the improvement of teaching,scientific and research ability,and the improvement of professional knowledge.Based on the discussion about the requirements of teachers for teaching and research section's activities and the further studying of the current situation of teaching and research section,this paper has found that the major problem is that the requirements of teachers are not met in current teaching and research section's activities according to the research samples: the first aspect is that activities are driven by external elements but not the internal needs of teachers;the second is that the contents of teaching and research section' activities can't highly match the needs of teachers;the third one is that current activities can't meet the needs of teachers;the fourth one is that the activities lack related support and has no good results,etc.The reasons of these problems are as follows: the first one is that organizers lack the understanding of the internal needs of teachers;the second reason is that teachers are not very willing to attend these teaching and research activities by compulsory means;the third one is that teachers have lost their interests in activities that are short of effectiveness and pertinence;the fourth reason is that the professional ability of section leaders needs to be improved.Therefore this research has proposed that teaching and research section's activities should be transformed based on teachers' needs and the existing problems,including the work pattern of teaching and research section should be transformed from “top to bottom” to “bottom to top”;the contents of teaching and research section's activities should be more pertinence and meet the real requirements of teachers;the mode of teaching and research section's activities should be enriched and the professional ability of teaching and research section should be guided;the leadership ability of the section leader should be improved;strong support should be provided.
