Research On The Cross-strait Exchange And Cooperation On Higher Education Based On The Mapping Knowledge Domains

In 1987,a "curfew" was removed between Taiwan and Mainland China.The cross-strait exchange and cooperation on higher education tortuously move forward and gradually get on the right track.However,under the seeming prosperity,there is also a great difference between Taiwan and mainland China in key points,hotspots and frontier issues of focus.Sometimes,to some focus issues and frontier issues,one party takes an active attitude while the other party takes a passive attitude,thus failing to reach a consensus.Hence,a new perspective and method shall be found out to truly reflect the conditions of cross-strait exchange and cooperation on higher education at different periods by seeing through the apparent prosperity.Due to its great subjectivity,the traditional literature review method is not applicable to the large-scale and objective analysis on literature.In this paper,the author attempts to take advantage of the mapping knowledge domains and refer to the literature sourcing from the CNKI(China National Knowledge Infrastructure)of mainland China and the kernel database of Taiwan.With the cross-strait exchange and cooperation on higher education as the research object,in order to show the basic situation,the research hotspot and the research frontier of the cross-strait exchange on higher education and through the overall development trend to reveal the impact of its political,economic and educational reasons by investigating,analyzing and comparing the different ruling periods in Taiwan.The maincontent of this paper contains three parts.The first part is thetheoretical basis and research design,described the applicableness of mapping knowledge to this research,and choose basic situation,research hotspot,research frontier and developing tendency to build the analytical framework of this research.The second part is the text analysis.The CiteSpace software is used to draw the mapping knowledge domains for the basic situation,research hotspot and research frontier of cross-strait exchange,cooperation and research on higher education at different ruling periods in Taiwan,and these points have been analyzed specifically.The third part is the comparative analysis and research prospects.According to the research hotspot and research frontier,the author has revealed the generality and difference of cross-strait exchange and cooperation on higher education at different periods,and through the overall development of the dynamic analysis and prospects to revealed the internal and external reasons of the tendency.It is suggested by the research that at different ruling periods in Taiwan,scholars'focus were varies of cross-strait exchange and cooperation on higher education.Some problems are hot in the mainland,while they are freezing in Taiwan.During Lee Teng-hui's period,there were 47 related researches on cross-strait exchange and cooperation,with cross-strait student exchange and academic exchange as the research hotspots,although mentioned "recognized by the ministry of education",but all left because of "overcome impetuosity and exercise patience" policy.During Chen Shui-bian's period,though cross-strait relations are in tense,because both sides have joined the WTO,the trade in higher education services belongs to the scope of cross-strait exchanges and cooperation.So related research still needs to be expanded and strengthened,the number of related researches increased to 117,with student exchange and recognition of educational attainments across the Straits as the research hotspots,interschool cooperation and the cooperation on vocational education reveal its importance for the first time,higher education cooperation and relationship between cross-strait also attracted the attention of scholars.During Ma Ying-jeou's period,Cross-strait relations were relaxed,closer between economy and trade communion,Cross-strait exchanges and cooperation of higher education research has explosive growth momentum,and the related researches reached 773,In addition to research land to Taiwan and cross-strait mutual enrollment system,involving cooperation between Fujian Province and Taiwan,joint train,cooperation in running schools,and other issues.Based on mapping knowledge analysis research status at different periods,the author finds out that the research on the cross-strait exchange and cooperation on higher education is closely related to politics and economic factors,Political party rotation and differences ruling concept in Taiwan,will affect the cross-strait exchanges and cooperation of higher education,and thus affect the relevant issues.Economic globalization,cross-strait accession to the WTO and the signing of ECFA by both sides will more or less affect the process and content of cross-strait exchanges and cooperation.In addition to the impact of political economy,the development of cross-strait exchanges and cooperation in higher education will also be driven by driving from within,such as Cross-strait academic exchanges,recognition of educational attainments,mutual enrollment,cooperation training,scientific research cooperation,etc.These exchange and cooperation in these fields have their own development logic,value orientation and operation law,the relevant research can be developed within the WTO framework,even with the interference of political factors,can still be twists and turns forward.
