The Research On Art Curriculum Implementation In Rural Schools

Basic education is the fundamentation of education.Basic Education Curriculum Reform Program in 2001 launched a new round of basic education curriculum reform.The government affirmed the status of aesthetic education in education,and the arts curriculum an integral part of the education of primary and secondary schools.It is an important approach to achieve all-round development of primary and middle school students.But compare to schools in cities,art education in rural areas has many problems to be solved.What is the status of the rural schools art curriculum implementation?What are the factors hindering the development of the art education these schools?How to play the role of art curriculum in the rural school education?What about Art course teachers'professional capacity situation?How to implement the arts courses?This paper tries to answer these problems.The writer takes 28 weaker schools among 50 rural schools as samples.By interviewing 10 principals,60 teachers and some students as well as their parents.400 pieces of questionnaire are checked,3/4 is to the teachers and 1/4 is to the students.By interviewing,the basic situation of rural art curriculum implementation is as follow:1.Art teachers are insufficient and the distribution of techers is uneven.2.Art teaching form is monotonous and of little interest.3.The equipment of art curriculum implementation is not efficiently managed.4.Arts class is not enough,and of low quality.To analyze,there are 4 factors causing this situation.(l)The false understanding of art teaching.(2)The lack of art teachers and teachers'training.(3)The shortage of curriculum implementation funding.(4)The lack of art class arrangement and low quality of art teaching.To solve these problems,it puts forward the following suggestions:(1)Raise the awareness of principals and other education officers.strengthen art education implementation.(2)Improve the teaching skills of art teachers in rural schools.(3)Improve system of art curriculum implementation management.
