The new curriculum standard requires teachers to be born as the focus,pay attention to the growth and life of each child,focus on the development of students' ability,emotional attitude and values.The teaching of morality and society should embody the value orientation of modern education,cultivate the students' positive attitude towards life and the ability of social participation,so that students can become a person with good habits of behavior and personality.Now situational teaching method is preferred by more and more teachers to carry forward the new National Curriculum Standard and to carry out the high-efficient teaching pattern.Mainly based on children's emotion,situational teaching method has improved the traditional classroom teaching by creating real or fictitious situations,which makes a lesson lively and vivid,motivates children's learning interest,and improves children's ideology and morality level and development in an all-round way.Starting from the application of situational teaching method in primary school“Morality and Society”,this paper first explains the reason why teachers should study situational teaching method,what theories should be studied and what are the theoretical and practical significances of doing so.Second,using literature research method,this paper defines “situation” and “situational teaching method”,and presents the research status and theoretical support at home and abroad.Third,by accumulating and systemizing source materials from attending lectures and interview investigations into some teachers and children,this paper describes the current situation of situational teaching method in “Morality and Society” classes in D Primary School,and mainly describes and discusses its strategies and methods,advantages and disadvantages of situational teaching method.Fourth,this paper studies and analyses the existing problems in the situational teaching procedures and their causes.At last,some suggestions on how to make a good use of situational teaching method in class are put forward as a result of reflection and summary of the teaching practice,such as how to carry forward the advantages of situational teaching method,how to amend its disadvantages,what principles should be paid attention to when creating situations.
