Leadership theory was formed by foreign scholars’ gradual induction at the beginning of 20 th century,the process has gone through 4 stages,namely leadership trait theory,behavior theory,situational leadership theory and new leadership theory.Based on the general leadership theory of leadership,sports researchers began to study the questions about leadership of coaches.The research of coaches,the domestic studies mainly focus on the current situation of coaches,the coaching ability,the evaluation of excellent coaches and other aspects of evaluation,specifically for the study of college coaches is relatively small.On the whole,the competitive strength of college sports in the developed areas is stronger,and the human resources reserves are better than those in the western underdeveloped regions.Under the background of this kind of pattern,the promotion of competitive ability of university sports in the western region needs more strong leadership.Because of this,this study wants to build the evaluation index system and evaluation criteria of Lanzhou college coaches’ leadership,which can provide the basis for the evaluation of the leadership of Lanzhou university coaches.The main research object of this study is the construction of the evaluation index system of Lanzhou college coaches’ leadership.The research methods include literature review,interview,analytic hierarchy process and questionnaire survey.Research results as follows:1.The evaluation index system of coaches’ leadership in Colleges and universities in Lanzhou is composed of evaluation index,evaluation method and evaluation criteria.Using the analytic hierarchy process to creat the index system and determine the evaluation criteria.2.the evaluation index system of coaches’ leadership of Colleges and universities in Lanzhou is reflected in the coaching ability,the forward-looking ability,the management ability,the cohesion of the 4 levels of the two indicators and the 28 indicators of the level of three.In the leadership system of coaches of Colleges and universities in Lanzhou,coaching ability is the most important,followed by cohesive force,forward-looking and management ability.3.In the 28 level three indexes,direct training and competition ability,knowledge structure,conflict prevention ability and understand their needs have the largest impact on the leadership of college coaches in Lanzhou.4.The evaluation standard of Lanzhou college coaches’ ability has been established,which advice coaches to find their own weakness and shortages through evaluation criteria.In this study,we have successfully established the evaluation index system of Lanzhou college coaches’ leadership basically,but because of the narrow research area,it is not suitable for universities of other areas.It is recommended that future researchers can break through geographical restrictions and expand the scope of research to suit evaluation criterion of different regions.
