| China is one of the countries most affected by the serious natural disasters.Frequent natural disasters have caused significant damage to the society in the disaster area,which has brought huge economic loss,personal injury and spiritual damage to the people in the disaster area.On August 23,2017,the 13 th typhoon "Hato" landed in the coastal zone of Zhuhai.Zhongshan,the city close to Zhuhai,was hit and suffered serious losses.Natural disasters are omnipresent and unavoidable,but the losses of disasters can be controlled.From the day of the birth of mankind,human have began to fight against natural disasters.In recent years,perfecting the systems and mechanisms of disaster prevention,reduction and relief is getting better and better in China.Social work,as a professional working method,has showed huge advantage in disaster prevention,reduction and relief.Social work has become an important part in the system of disaster prevention,reduction,relief and reconstruction.Based on the advantages of the community in disaster prevention and relief,the X town of Zhongshan has established a institution named the tri-proof capacity service centers in the seven communities under its jurisdiction.In the community,the tri-proof service centers has conducted activities for typhoon disaster prevention and disaster reduction.After the typhoon,the tri-proof service centers participated in emergency rescue and post-disaster reconstruction.In the typhoon defense and relief,social work had been the supporters,the mentor,the links and the coordinators.Social work has provided psychological assistance,integrated social resources and improved the capacity of residents.However,there are also problems such as unclear responsibilities and resistance of some residents.Therefore,to improve efficiency of social work in typhoon defense and relief,social work need to be incorporated into the national disaster relief system,continue to explore the potential of residents,and promote social work research. |
