Mathematical operation ability is a kind of important mathematical competence which the seventh grade fresh students should have.It identifies the level of mathematical ability.It's a combination of all kinds of competence.And it comes along with all kinds of competence which include memory,imagination,comprehension,observation and thinking.So improving students' mathematical ability advances not only the grades of students,even the enthusiasm of study but also other competence,especially logical reasoning ability.The writer learns some research theories and achievements of mathematical operation ability from advanced educationalists and theorists.He combines his own practical experience and reflection.What's more,he collects the papers of the entrance math tests from the seventh grade fresh students in Tang Country Ideal Middle School.The writer pays attention to the answers to the questions about mathematical operation.By analyzing types of mistakes,he proposes matters which are supposed to notice,and teaching strategies to adopt in daily teaching.The problems and research meaning are proposed in chapter 1.In chapter 2 the concepts of mathematical ability and mathematical operation ability are identified.And the level of mathematical operation and the characters of mathematical operation ability are explained.It includes current situations of research and theory achievements which are summarized about mathematical computation ability from his country and abroad.In chapter 3,the papers of the entrance math test from the Seventh grade fresh students are analyzed integrally and then classified.Then the typical mistakes from mathematical operation in the tests are stated in detail.In chapter 4,the strategies to develop students' mathematical operation ability is presented.His own experience and successful precious research achievements are considered.These strategies include eight aspects.First,the extension of number system is considered to be cohered;Second,the new knowledge which students will learn is expected to connect with what they have received;Third,the jointfrom arithmetic to algebra is supposed to constructed firmly;Fourth,the consistency between the expression of spoken language and mathematical language is considered to be necessary;Fifth,the training of arithmetic competence is important for students;Sixth,developing favorable habits is helpful for students;Seventh,fostering the skills of self-check should be taught.In chapter 5,examine the effects of teaching.In chapter 6,some specific and relevant examples of teaching lessons are offered.In the last chapter,the writer summarizes the key points about the research.Also,he believes that the research is considered to be improved.He points out the further research directions in the future.
