Objective: Through the implement of aerobic exercise,aerobic exercise combined with L-carnitine,aerobic exercise combined with weight loss supplements(L-carnitine + Meal Replacement Milkshake)for overweight,obese female college students.To study the effects of weight loss supplements on fat buring workouts.To offer some theory for the development of efficient and sustainable weight loss program and to provide some technical support for the efficacy and safety of weight loss supplements.Methods: A total of 30 overweight,obese college students were assigned randomly to three groups(n=10/group): aerobic exercise group(S group),aerobic exercise combined with L-carnitine group(L group),aerobic exercise combined with weight loss supplements group(L-carnitine + Meal Replacement Milkshake)(RL group).All the three groups completed a 40-minute aerobic exercise per day,5-day per week,6-week weight loss intervention.RL group,L group followed the instructions of weight loss supplements.Recorded the daily dietary calories.RL group ate breakfast and lunch but only ate Meal Replacement Milkshake for dinner,the calories of breakfast and lunch were the same as before.Daily calories in L and S group were the same as before.Results: Comparing with S group,BMI,body fat mass,WHR,LDL-C,LEP,IL-6,Hs-CRP were significantly decreased(P<0.05)and TNF-? was very significantly decreased in RL group(P<0.01).WHR,TC,LEP,IL-6,Hs-CRP and TNF-? in L group decreased significantly compared with group S(P<0.05).The differences in body weight,BMI,body fat,WHR,and TNF-a in the RL group were significantly different from those in the S group(P<0.01),moreover,body fat rate difference,LEP difference were significantly different from S group(P<0.05).Differences in body weight and WHR between L group and S group were significantly different(P<0.05).The difference in body weight between RL group and L group was significantly different(P<0.05).Conclusion: Supplementation of L-carnitine and Meal Replacement Milkshake can significantly improve the body composition related indicators,serum LEP and inflammatory factor TNF-a levels.The effect was significantly better than that of the L-carnitine alone.
