With the rapid development of knowledge and technology in the twenty-first Century,this not only opened a broad road for the development of the teaching of writing,but also put forward higher requirements for doing exercises in composition.The primary stage is the starting stage of the students’ learning and writing,and the middle grade students’ composition is the key stage of the transition from the low to the high.The students in this period are immature on physiological,psychological development,they have little practice experience on composition.So the teaching of this stage,the effective guidance of the teachers to the students’ writing ability which play a very important role.In order to further improve the middle grade composition teaching and improve the middle grade students’ composition level,it is necessary for us to make an in-depth investigation into the composition teaching of middle grade.Through objective analysis,research and experience,we should attach great importance to the problems in the middle grade,and try to find effective ways and means to solve the difficulties in practice.This paper takes the middle grade students and teachers of the Experimental Primary School in Dun Hua City as the research objects.This is mainly due to the following reasons:the Experimental Primary School is the earliest public primary school in Dun Hua City,it has a long history.It was identified by the Education Committee of Jilin Province as“One of the first among the best key primary schools in the province" in 1978,and 1984,Second,middle grade is the development stage of students’ study composition,at the same time,it is the key period for students to learn and write composition.Third,the teachers and students in the Experimental Primary School have a fairly high quality.In composition teaching,compared with other similar schools,Experimental Primary School started earlier and studied more deeper.There are many places worthy of referencing for us.Of course,it is inevitable that we will encounter problems in the process of inquiry,Whether it is this type of problem,or that kind of problem,all of these are worth thinking and exploring.On the basis of this,With the author’ s composition teaching experience,in view of the research subject and the characteristics of the object of investigation,after reading a large number of educational and teaching theories,According to the relevant requirements of the Chinese Curriculum Standard and Modern Writing Course,under the guidance of the tutors,I designed two sets of questionnaires,the content of the questionnaire involves the quality of teachers,the teaching methods of composition,the evaluation of composition teaching,the revision of composition,the level of students’ composition,the interest in composition,the accumulation of the contents of the composition,the selection of the contents of the composition,and the use of the practice materials.Among them,the teacher questionnaire consists of twenty-three choice questions and eight ask-and-answer questions.The student questionnaire consists of thirty choice questions and seven ask-and-answer questions.The teacher’s questionnaire was used to survey fourteen teachers,the student’s questionnaire was used to survey six hundred and seventy-five students who have been studying in the middle grade of Dun Hua City Experimental Primary School.Through data collection,collation and analysis,I have mastered the current situation,achievements and problems of middle grade composition teaching in Dun Hua City Experimental Primary School.For the present situation of composition teaching,the author presents the objective presentation of the data by means of text matching or form.For the achievements and existing problems,from a teacher’s point of view,I analyze them from four aspects:Teachers’ quality,teaching composition methods,evaluation of composition teaching and composition revision level.From a student’s point of view,I make an objective analysis from several aspects,such as the level of writing,interest in composition,accumulation of content,choice of content,and application of exercise materials.Finally,the nine aspects of questionnaire design are objectively analyzed and summarized from the perspective of school.For the existing problems,I put forward some reference suggestions from the perspective of teachers,students and schools.It is hoped that through investigation and research,my reference suggestions can promote the overall development of composition teaching in Dun Hua City Experimental Primary School,at the same time,it can enrich people’s cognition of the theory and practice of composition teaching in primary school.
