National unity and national cohesion are one of the important symbols to measure a country’s comprehensive national strength,a prerequisite for the development of a harmonious social economy,and a basic condition for realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.It is also an important part of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.It is necessary to consolidate and develop socialist national relations by strengthening the consciousness of Chinese community and strengthening the education of national unity.Students in senior high school are in the important period of the formation of values.To study the methods of high school students’ national unity education,to promote the thought of national unity into their minds,to cultivate the sense of national identity and national unity of students of all nationalities,and to strengthen the national cohesion.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to promote national unity and social stability,to build a well-off society in an all-round way and to build a socialist modern power with Chinese characteristics.Based on the detailed reading of the relevant policy documents of the Ministry of Education,the Central propaganda Department and other relevant departments on the development of national unity education activities,this paper summarizes the concept and main contents of the national unity education for senior high school students.By conducting field interviews at Nanning Y Middle School,an investigation was carried out around four aspects: school education,family education,social education and students’ cognition of national unity.This paper analyzes the deficiency of Y Middle School in the process of strengthening the education method of high school students’ national unity.In view of the method of national unity education for senior high school students,this paper actively develops the practical activities and various channels of national unity education from the role of the main position of classroom teaching.Three aspects of senior high school students’ cognition are explored.
