China is a unified multi-ethnic country.Education in national unity is an important part of ideological and moral education in junior middle schools.Under the background of world conflicts and local wars that continue to cause ethnic conflicts in the world,promoting ethnic unity education is the main principle for establishing harmonious ethnic relations.The approach is also an important guarantee for the development of socialist construction with Chinese characteristics in the new era.In view of this,the Ministry of Education and the National Civil Affairs Commission jointly issued documents requesting the preparation of special teaching materials for the part of the national unity education in junior high school ideological and moral education curriculum,and the provision of special academic hours,and strictly stipulating the proportion of them in the examination.In fact,survey data from twenty junior high schools in Xuzhou City indicate that national unity education has not received much attention.The main manifestations includes specialized educational aids for ethnic solidarity exist in name only,prescribed special hours are not put into place,and relevant content is in examinations.The proportion of students is also seriously ignored.Of course,students' awareness of ethnic unity education is not in place.The main reason for this result is that,first of all,the ideological and moral education textbooks for junior middle school and the specialized auxiliary teaching materials for ethnic unity education are not properly connected;secondly,the provisions of higher education authorities are not implemented and are not implemented;once again,they are used as schools in the eastern part of China.The importance of ethnic unity education is not fully understood;in addition,some teachers still lack knowledge of ethnic policies.To solve these problems,first,we must effectively link the ideological and moral education textbooks for junior middle school with the specialized auxiliary teaching materials for national unity education,and incorporate the core content of supplementary teaching materials directly into ideological and moral teaching materials,and highlight them with emphasis;second,organize experts to Teachers conduct training to help ideological and moral education teachers accurately grasp the national policies of the country and eliminate objective obstacles in the implementation of relevant documents.Third,to tap teaching materials from supplementary teaching materials and innovate the classroom teaching contents and forms of ideological and moral education for juniors in the national unity education.Optimize instructional design to ensure classroom effectiveness;Fourth,Strengthen the construction of teaching staff,continuously improve teachers' teaching level and ability,and at the same time raise teachers' awareness of the importance of ethnic unity education,so that the education for national unity in ideological and moral education classes in junior middle schools will be effective.
