With the implementation of the "National Long-Term Education Reform and Development Plan Outline(2010-2020)"(Outline)and "Several Opinions of the State Council on the Development of Preschool Education," vigorous development of preschool education has become a beautiful landscape of education in China.The development of preschool education not only requires the establishment of a group of solid and safe kindergartens,but also requires the construction of a kindergarten teacher team with high moral integrity and excellent business skills.The emergence of male teachers in kindergartens has not only broken the tradition of women-centered teacher structure,but also has an irreplaceable role in the development of preschool education.Therefore,it is of great significance to promote the good career development of male teachers in kindergartens to promote the advancement of preschool education.This article is based on a male teacher who has worked for eight years and is typical of the first-line nursery school.This paper uses G to represent the kindergarten where the kindergarten male teacher is located.H represents the kindergarten male teacher.This report adopts a qualitative research orientation for in-depth case studies.The author took advantage of the internship opportunity to spend a year with the H teacher.During this period,the author conducted in-depth interviews and long-term observations on the career development of H teachers,and extracted the difficulties faced by H teachers in career development.Finally,some suggestions for improvement are proposed.This study finds that H teachers are deeply loved by colleagues and young children in first-line kindergartens,but they also face many difficulties in their career development.Its main career development dilemmas are occupational identification dilemma,occupational compensation dilemma,occupational gender dilemma,and professional competence dilemma.In the face of the professional development difficulties of H teachers,after the author’s objective analysis,the main factors influencing the formation of the career development dilemma are: the binding of the workplace “sex stereotype”,the status of the professional society is still low,the parents’ lack of trust in male teachers,and H Teacher’s lifelong learning beliefs and lack of action.Finally,the author puts forward the relevant countermeasures to improve the career development of male teachers in kindergartens.The main ones are: The government implements incentive measures to encourage more males to enterkindergartens,improve the salary of male teachers in kindergartens,strengthen the connection between different kindergartens,and to build platforms in kindergartens for the male teachers to exchange their ideas,promote parents’ understanding of preschool education,and enrich the self-elevation of male teachers in kindergartens.It is hoped that this study can help H teachers get out of their career difficulties and provide some references for the career development of male teachers in other kindergartens.
