A Research On The Application Of Mind Maps To Extracurricular Reading On Masterpieces In Junior High School

Nowadays,with the gradual advancement of the curriculum reform,the extracurricular reading has received more and more attentions from teachers and students.The old-style masterpiece reading,which needed students to cram for the tests,cannot fit for today's needs.In order to realize the reading value in Chinese and rich students' spiritual world,reading masterpieces step by step is imperative.There is a common issue among the junior high school students.They usually just read masterpieces without thinking.The Chinese characters in masterpieces stand for nothing to them.Students will not turn those characters into their own ideas or thoughts.That is why the students cannot remember the story after reading.However,the mind map helps students to be active readers,participants and thinkers rather than task-completers.The thesis takes the recommended books listed by the textbooks edited by the Ministry of Education for example.It can be divided into 4 parts,and it analyzes the application of mind maps to extracurricular reading on masterpieces in junior high school.The first part discusses the theoretical sources of extracurricular masterpiece reading by tracing the introduction and development of mind maps,analyzing the general situation of extracurricular masterpiece reading in junior high school,and comparing the reading methods benefiting from mind maps with the traditional reading methods.The second part analyzes the strengths,weaknesses,opportunities and threats of the application of mind maps by using SWOT.The third part explains the principles,methods and steps of the application of mind maps in extracurricular masterpiece reading in junior high school in terms of macro theories.The fourth part studies the strategies by which mind maps can be applied to extracurricular masterpiece reading in junior high school through analyzing novels,essays,and poems in extracurricular masterpiece reading.
