Mother tongue education is a precondition for students to learn other courses,and is also the foundation for students' growth and development.A nation must establish mother tongue education on important place in education.Otherwise.nation will lose not only its cultural soil and spiritual homeland,but also the foundation for its own survival and development.However.mother tongue education is becoming a universal social phenomenon,the status of mother tongue education has even retreated to foreign language education.irreconcilable with the important status of mother tongue education.From kindergarten to primary and secondary schools to universities.Mongolian students focus too much on learning mathematics and foreign languages.The motivation of the students' mother tongue course is directly related to the success or failure of the mother tongue education.The secondary school stage is the key period for the development of children's self-awareness.and it is also an important stage for the formation and development of the mother tongue curriculum learning motivation.Based on literature research.the paper aims at studying the current situation and influencing factors of secondary school students' learning moti,ation in the mother tongue course.A questionnaire was designed.which consists of three dimensions:students' own factors,teachers' and school's factors.family and social factors.Some secondary school students from two Mongolian schools were selected to conduct a questionnaire survey,913 valid questionnaires were collected for statistical analysis.Based on the survey statistics,the motivation of the mother tongue curriculum for secondary school students in Mongolia was analyzed from the emotional and cognitive perspectives.The study found that,students' from sixth grade to ninth grade interest in the Mongolian language curriculum.their interest in learning content.their satisfaction with the teaching methods.their interest in extracurricular reading,and other important aspects are directly related to the learning motivation.All these aspects are declining year by year.This grim reality has alarmed that it is urgent to deepen the teaching reform of the mother tongue curriculum in secondary schools.Based on the analysis of the questionnaire.six major factors affecting the learning motivation of the mother tongue curriculum for secondary school students are extracted.According to the degree of influence.the six major factors are:students' emotional attitudes towards mother tongue lessons,students' rational understanding of mother tongue programs,students' social support for learning mother tongue program,students' extracurricular reading,mother tongue curriculum learning foundations and habits,and learning objectives for mother tongue lessons.Combined with the six major factors.the possible approaches and measures to impr?ve the learning motivation of secondary school students'mother tongue curriculum were discussed.which provided reference and basis for the teaching reform of the mother tongue curriculum in secondary school.
