Research On University Reputation Based On Distinguished Alumni

As the quality of higher education has become a hot topic of discussion in all walks of life,the focus of public attention gradually points to university rankings and university prestige.University prestige is the overall image of a university in the face of the public,and is an important indicator system considered in the university rankings.The university reputation evaluation system generally includes three indicators: teaching level,research level,and outstanding alumni.Analyzing the factors that affect university prestige has a vital significance for improving college prestige.This article uses quantitative research methods and uses descriptive statistics to analyze outstanding alumni and university prestige.Taking the Nobel Prize winners,academicians of the two academies,current officials above the ministerial level,and leaders of the world's top 500 Chinese companies as research objects,collect data on these outstanding alumni's undergraduate,master's,and doctoral degrees from the three graduate schools,and obtain statistical data.Alumni graduate institutions in the three fields of study,government,and business,and the number of outstanding alumni in each university,and the university reputation according to the number of outstanding alumni.From this,it can also be concluded that: in the top universities,“double-class universities” account for a large proportion,and some universities lack outstanding alumni in certain fields and need to adjust the discipline structure and professional structure in a timely manner.In order to improve university reputation and how to develop and manage outstanding alumni resources,this study puts forward four suggestions: First,focus on building the advantages of outstanding alumni in a certain area of a university and establish a university brand;second,strengthen the construction of outstanding alumni associations in colleges and universities.And establish an outstanding alumni database;third,regular celebrations will be held to publicize outstanding alumni and outstanding alumni;fourthly,alumni donation rates will be increased,and outstanding alumni exchange activities will be strengthened in the academic and business sectors.It is hoped that the above suggestions can help a university better develop and manage outstanding alumni resources and improve university reputation.
