A Research On Gender Role Attitude,Mate Preference And The Relationship Between The Two Of College Students

This study aims to understand the current status of gender attitudes and preference of spouses and the relationship between the two in order to achieve gender equality and provide guidance for undergraduates' choice of marriage,using a combination of literature,questionnaires,and implicit testing.The three universities in Chengdu randomly selected undergraduate students for scale management and experiments.The study found that:(1)College students' attitudes on gender roles are generally modern,and they are most concerned about the personality of the other party in terms of preference for mates,and they are the least concerned with social resources.(2)Boys have more traditional attitudes than girls in four dimensions of gender role attitude;girls are significantly more concerned with each other's social resources than boys.The senior students have a more traditional attitude towards social rights and obligations,professional interest and work,gender interaction and interaction,and the senior students pay more attention to the appearance of their spouses than the junior students.In the four dimensions of gender role attitude,science students have a more traditional attitude than arts students,and arts students pay more attention to their spouses' social resources than science students.There is no significant difference between the gender role attitude and the spouse preference of the single child.College students whose family economy is higher than the average local students pay more attention to the appearance of their spouses than those who are equal to or below the local average level.(3)There is a difference between the explicit gender roles and the preference of mate selection in the implicit level: the explicit level of male students in the ability characteristics,gender interaction more traditional concept,but the implicit level is more modern;explicit level of college students most do not pay attention to the spouse social resources.But the implicit level is much more important.(4)The relationship between gender role attitude and spouse preference is significantly related to both explicit and implicit levels in two relationships.
