Domestic violence as a global issue,it has long been regarded as a private crime that is free from social interference and restriction.Until the 1970 s,the international community has begun to confront domestic violence,and gradually open the discussion.The study of domestic violence in China began in the 1990 s,subsequently,a large number of research achievements have emerged in the fields of law,sociology,women's studies and journalism.This paper starts from the gender perspective,From January to August 2017,baidu news reports as a sample,analyze the characteristics of domestic violence reporting,explore the insufficient gender representation of media in domestic violence,and the lack of media responsibility and media ethics anomie.Through content analysis,it is found that there is a more obvious problem of gender discrimination in related domestic violence reports,and discrimination against women is particularly serious.This is partly related to the lack of gender awareness among media workers,gender regulation within the media,and the influence of traditional gender culture in the media.The role of various aspects can not be separated.From the perspective of gender,this article focuses not only on the status of women in the media presented under such issues,but also on the image status of men in domestic violence.From discovering problems,analyzing causes to solving problems.Pay attention to and meet the responsibilities of media in such reports,the aim is to change the status of women and the negative image that is deliberately created.to enrich media and gender studies to make a certain complement.The thesis is divided into four chapters.First chapter using quantity from reported by content analysis and frequency,theme report forms,reports,news source four aspects analysis report presents the characteristics of domestic violence,from two aspects: form and content of analyzes in a quantitative way.Finally,the results are presented in the form of a chart and the problems are discovered at a glance.This is particularly evident in women's discrimination in domestic violence reporting.The second chapter analyzes the problems of domestic violence report from the perspective of gender.It is also the focus of the full paper.Including the image of the victimized woman,the woman always appears in a weak and incompetent image;the media describes the “secondary injury” unintentionally caused by the information of the victim's identity through excessively detailed injuries;the traditional gender culture in the media.The following recommendations,over-requiring responsibility for victimized women and weakening the responsibility of men for violence and men who were neglected in domestic violence,have reported very low rates of male victims in numerous reports of domestic violence,and the number of men who have been subjected to domestic violence has continued to rise.Social reality is out of touch.The third chapter tries to dig the root of the problem.The main social culture,media ethics anomie,media monitoring mechanism failure three aspects explore why the potential sexism content and gender bias consciousness.There are objective reasons as well as subjective human errors.In the final analysis,the key to solvingproblems lies in people.The fourth chapter mainly proposes several suggestions to improve the media's lack of gender awareness and gender discrimination in domestic violence.The article puts forward requirements from three levels: society,media,and audience.It is constrained and improved to condense the power of the entire society to make use of the positive impact of such reports,help the media eliminate blind spots in gender awareness,and avoid misunderstandings of gender discrimination so as to truly achieve Empowering women can only effectively solve such problems if the entire society works together.
