Advances in economic development and transportation technology have made mobility an important symbol of modern society(Huang Pei,Huang Wenhong, and Zhang Wei 2014).With the accelerating process of urbanization, the number of floating population has also increased. In this trend,large-scale population movement has become a common phenomenon in contemporary China.According to the"China's Floating Population Development Report 2016" issued by the National Health and Family Planning Commission, the number of floating population in China in 2015 reached 247 million, accounting for 18%of the country's total population, which means that one of six people is a floating population. The floating population in China is a specific concept, and its crucial influence on economic development and social progress is increasingly becoming a concern point. From the perspective of consumption, the impact of floating population on inflows and outflows is first and foremost as a kind of consumption power. This kind of consumption power can not be underestimated in driving the economic development of inflow and outflow. From a business perspective, the increase in mobility promotes fluid consumption(Bardhi and Eckhardt 2017).It is clear that the nature and characteristics of fluid consumption help companies to differentiate between solid consumption and liquid consumption, thereby improving the design and prediction of business activities and further stimulating consumption to promote the effective growth of the national economy. This study focuses on the social preference of floating population.Although there have been many studies on the social engagement of the floating population, there have been two limitations in previous studies:First, the lack of a unified concept for the study of the floating population in China has failed to rise to the height of geographic mobility. The management of floating population under the new socialism with characteristics is lack of forward-looking research;Second, the research on the social engagement of floating population mainly focuses on the social integration of the floating population groups, and fails to explore the social status and the integration of psychological culture of floating individuals.Identifying the social integration of the floating population will help the government to intervene and guide the social integration process of the migrant population in a proper and timely manner in the process of promoting new urbanization. This study will explore the impact of population mobility on social preferences from the perspective of geographic mobility.Geographic mobility means moving from one place to another, from one country to another, and from one area to another(Bibby 1997).The most obvious feature of geographical mobility is the impact of a temporary disturbance on a person's life, and it takes time to adjust and adapt.Geographic mobility will encourage people to expand social circles, but in real life,it can not clearly expand which part of the social circle? This study proposes to explain the impact of geography from the perspective of strong connections and weak connections.Based on previous studies, this study further explores the different effects of geographical mobility on strong connections and weak connections and the psychological intermediary mechanisms among them.We believe that compared with individuals with low geographic mobility, individuals with high geographic mobility have stronger intentions to expand strong connections and weak connections;active high-flow individuals have stronger intentions to expand weak connection socialization, and this influence is mediated by hope;Passive high-mobility individuals have a stronger desire to expand their social connections, and this influence is mediated by loneliness.
