On the theoretical basis of fairy tales and their teaching theory,this paper clarifies the definitions,classifications and characteristics,discusses the principle and value of fairy tale teaching.This paper investigates through data collection,student questionnaire and teacher interviews.The number of fairy tales is calculated in the People's Education Press to observe its proportion,regularities of distribution and characteristics,and the text compiling of fairy tales is also researched.This paper designs the questionnaire and interview outline,conducts questionnaires,collates and analyzes the results of questionnaire by taking the students from Grade 1 to Grade 6 in a primary school in Wuchang District as its object.Meanwhile,this paper interviews 3 Chinese teachers of different sex.grade and age in this school,aiming at finding out the various phenomena in the teaching of fairy tales and tracing its cause.In the compiling of fairy tales,it is found that although fairy tales account for a large proportion,the distribution is extremely uneven in terms of grades,the structure is single,and the theme is not rich enough,so the selection of fairy tales remains to be further improved.The results of the student questionnaire show that students generally love fairy tales,but some studies in the class cannot arouse students' interest.The form of fairy tale teaching does not meet the needs of students,and teachers do not recommend enough for extracurricular fairy tales.The interview results reveal that teachers are obscure about the characteristics of fairy tales,their theoretical level needs to be improved.They are unable to unify the instrumentality and humanism of fairy tale teaching,making fairy tales a teaching tool.The teaching method is unitary the scientific nature needs to be improved,and the reading guidance for extracurricular fairy tales is insufficient.In view of the above phenomenon,combined with the cause analysis of the problem,this research puts forward suggestions from three aspects,including teaching material selection,teachers' strategy and teaching practice.First,it is recommended to increase the amount of fairy tales in middle and high grades.The selected texts should adapt to the characteristics of different grades.And it is also rational to reduce the original deletion and retain the original artistic quality.Weakening the teaching and strengthening the interest are also put forward.Second,teachers should learn the theory of fairy tales,clear the instructional objectives of fairy tales,grasp the characteristics and basic teaching methods for students of different ages and grades,keep the "innocence" and be good at understanding fairy tales perceptually.Third,it is suggested to make full use of pictures,music,videos and other multimedia ways to create the learning atmosphere of fairy tales,use the advantage of fairy tale texts to train language ability,deepen text understanding by reading,performing,describing and contrasting,mine the perceptual resources of fairy tales,establish emotion and aesthetic experience,strengthen the language use ability through the continuation,adaptation and originality of fairy tales,recommend,guide and evaluate extracurricular fairy tale reading,organize related extracurricular activities and be guided by teachers and parents together.
