With the development of reform and opening up and market economy,the process of urbanization in China is accelerating,In order to obtain higher economic benefits in the city,a large number of idle workers in the countryside have migrated to the cities.They have made great contributions to the development of the city,which is called the"floating population".The floating population began to come to the city alone,and then gradually developed into a "family relocation",That is to say,their children also live in cities with their parents.The children of the floating population are called "floating children".Most of the floating population began with a vision of a better life in the city,However,in cities,there are various problems,such as pressure and crisis,Among them,The tension between parents and children in floating families has become an increasingly serious family problem,The quality of parent-child relationship is not only important for family harmony and marriage relationship,but also affects the physical and mental health of floating children in the long run,If the parent-child relationship is not handled well,It is likely to cause children and adolescents’ deviations,Therefore,good parent-child relationship is of great significance for building a harmonious family atmosphere and children’s physical and mental health.In this paper,author conducted a questionnaire survey and interview to the floating children and their parents in the J community of Wuhan.To understand the current situation of parent-child relationship in floating families and explore the reasons for the problems.It is found that the problems of parent-child relationship in floating families are mostly due to their parents’ wrong way of rearing and bad parent-child communication.In addition,the parents of floating children are under great pressure from life.These subjective and objective factors lead to the unhealthy parent-child relationship of floating families,which seriously affects the physical and mental health of floating children and the harmony of their families.From the perspective of social work,based on family system theory and parent-child communication theory,this paper adopted group method to intervene the problem of parent-child relationship in floating families.,carryed out group activities of "parent-child happiness" in the J community of Wuhan,Through the development of seven sections in depth group activities to enhance parents’ educational ability to their children and communication ability between parents and children,then improve the parent-child relationship of floating family in J community.The results of the group activities were evaluated through the self-assessment scale of parent-child relationship and the satisfaction survey of the group members,and the problems existing in group activities are summarized and reconsidered.Through the study,this paper draws the following conclusions:Floating families participate in parent-child group activities,and learn parent-child communication methods,which can improve parent-child relationship.Floating families participate in parent-child group activities with different themes can recognize the importance of parent-child relationship in children’s growth,and promote their initiative to improve parent-child relationship.Parent-child group activities can help mutual support organizations among floating families,and continue to achieve group effectiveness.Group work has a high degree of recognition and positive role in intervention of floating family parent-child relationship.
