In order to meet the development of the times,promote educational reform,pay attention to the subjectivity and personality development of students,improving the initiative and enthusiasm of students,making students like sports and physical education,fostering lifelong sports consciousness,reforming the existing mode of physical education and developing school physical education has become an important issue.Options teaching in physical education is an important way of high school curriculum reform.It follows the teaching requirements and curriculum rules.And it has met the needs of students of different levels,different standards and different interest.It actively promotes physical education teachers to participate in the sports curriculum.This paper mainly adopts four approaches:the literature and data,questionnaires,statistical analysis and experimental method.We have chosen 1-8 class students from second-year as control group,9-16 class students from second-year students as experimental group.The experimental lasted for one academic year.After finishing experiment,we will analysis data from six areas to judge the good and bad points in optional teaching.The six areas are:study motivation,attitude,interest,physical quality,skills learning and teaching skills by teachers.In order to set up optional course in Jiangling Experimental High School,we have analysis teaching resource,teachers,options,student interest.And though the statistical result we have set up specific measures and process.Research results showed that compared to the traditional teaching mode,optional teaching makes students much better as follow points:learning motivation,learning interest,learning attitudes,skills and physical quality.But still there are some problem in optional teaching as:backward teaching method,undefined aims of the lesson,lack of sports equipment.Through analyze results of practice research in Jiangling Experimental high school.We proposed development strategies,including change ideas,improving management,improving evaluation methods and so on.
