Scientific thinking is an important aspect of core literacy of biology.In biology curriculum standard of high school(2017 Edition),it is clearly pointed out that "model and modeling" is a scientific way of thinking.Conducting physical model construction teaching facilitates the cultivation of students' core literacy in biology.Physical model is an important branch of the model.Physical model constructing activity requires both hands and brain.Conducting physical model construction teaching conforms to the educational concept of "advocating initiative learning".This study has made some exploration on the biology teaching of constructing physical models in high school.This study uses the literature research method to discuss the definition of concepts such as model,model method,physical model,model construction and modeling teaching,and then to expound the current situation of domestic and foreign research on models,model construction and modeling teaching.This study clarifies some requirements related to the construction of the physical model in the curriculum standard.And it sorts out the contents of the physical model in the textbook.Finally it expands the contents of the physical model construction's activities in the textbook.This study investigates the actual situation of the biology teaching ofphysical model construction in high school through the questionnaire survey on the part of students and interviews with some teachers.Then it carries out a classroom observation on the high quality's teaching video of the biology teaching that constructing physical models in high school.In view of the feasible practice and shortcomings of front-line teachers in practical teaching,this study puts forward some tentative suggestions for biology teachers in high school from two aspects that are instructional design and teaching implementation.According to the teaching process,the teaching case of "DN A molecular structure" is designed and implemented,and the corresponding teaching reflection is carried out after the implementation.It is known from the analysis of the survey results and classroom observation results:(1)Teachers and students agree with the positive value of physical model construction;(2)Students are interested in physical model construction activities;(3)The number of physical model construction's activities which teachers carry out is not much;(4)The way of evaluation that teachers use in the teaching of physical model construction is single;(5)Teachers and students pay less attention to the application of physical model to analyze and solve some biological problems.(6)Excellent teachers can create suitable situations in the teaching of physical model construction,and can clearly illustrate the task of modeling;(7)Excellent teachers can give students appropriate help in physical model construction activities and regulate the process of activities better;(8)Excellent teachers can guide students to conduct a more comprehensive and detailed analysis of physical models.
