Group Work To Improve Interpersonal Communication Ability Of Older Mentally Retarded People

For the mentally-impaired group,communication is a basic survival skill.The ability of communication affects individuals with mental disabilities who fully participate in society,integrate education,and live independently.The author takes the practice of the H agency in Kunming as an example.Before the intervention,a questionnaire survey and interviews were conducted on the interpersonal communication skills of the service objects in the organization.Combined with the author's observation of the service objects in daily life,they found that they had a need for interpersonal communication skills,due to their own particularity and limited living area.Sex,they are eager to communicate with more people,but interpersonal communication skills have become their obstacles.This study is based on the physical and mental characteristics of people with mental disabilities,through professional methods of group work to improve the interpersonal communication skills of people with intellectual disabilities.The author selected nine persons with mental disabilities from the H agency in Kunming to include activities such as games,sitcom simulations,and paintings.Intervene in the interpersonal communication skills of the client.In the process of each activity,the group's activity record table is used to record the specific performance and changes of the service object.After the activity is completed,the social worker conducts the corresponding process and result evaluation of the team members.The evaluation results of the team members all show that the team The work has a significant effect on interpersonal communication skills of people with older intellectual disabilities,and reflects and summarizes how to improve and improve the interpersonal communication skills of those with mental disabilities in the older age.It also analyzes that the group work should pay attention to and improve the services for older people with intellectual disabilities.The place has a certain practical significance for interpersonal communication of older people with intellectual disabilities.
