Group Work Research On Sexual Education For Mentally Retarded Adolescents

Recently,News of child sexual abuse is not uncommon.As a result,there has been a growing demand for sexual education for children and adolescents.A series of books,videos,laws and regulations on child sexual education have received the public's attention.However,among children and adolescents,the special group of youth with intellectual disabilities also needs people's attention.The problem of sexual education for mentally retarded adolescents has always been a problem for mentally retarded adolescents themselves,their families and children's welfare agencies.However,there has been no good solution to how to solve this problem and to enable mentally retarded young people to have better knowledge of sex education and know how to protect themselves.Based on the literature research,this study uses group work theories and methods,combined with the characteristics of mentally retarded adolescents,through the game,scenario simulation,video,interactive Q&A,etc.,in Y City Children's organizations to carry out six groups of activities.They are "Where am I from","I am different from him/herself',"I love my body","Auntie,how much do I know about spermatorrhea","Say no to salty pig hands" and "Long axis of time" and try to help them learn basic sexual physiology,skills,sexual ethics,and sexual protection and safety.In the assessment after the group activity ended,it was found that this group activity increased the knowledge about adolescent-related intellectual disabilities and at the same time gave them an opportunity to understand how to protect themselves.But there are also shortcomings.In future studies,social workers should pay more attention to the mentally retarded adolescents themselves and design more reasonable group activities based on their characteristics.At the same time,social workers should give more play to resource links and policy advocates other than group activities In preparation for the next research and practical activities.In future studies,social workers should pay more attention to the mentally retarded adolescents themselves and design more reasonable group activities based on their characteristics.At the same time,social workers should give more play to resource links and policy advocates other than group activities In preparation for the next research and practical activities...
