The newly revised geography curriculum standard defines Human-land coordination,regional cognition,geographic practical ability and comprehensive thought as the four core qualities of geography.As an important part of the geographical core qualities,the cultivation of students' ability of geographical practice is the focus of all kinds of schools and research of teaching as well as education.Take Guangdong Experimental Middle School as an example,the paper evaluates students' geographic practical ability by designing the questionnaire of scale.SPSS and Excel are used to count,analyze and compare the results of questionnaire data,in order to understand the differences in the level of geographic practical ability of high school students,summarize the reasons that affects the level of geographic practical ability and put forward the related strategies of improving that.The first chapter is the introduction.It mainly explains the background and significance of the research as well as the study methods and ideas.The second chapter is the research summary.The concept of practical ability and geographical practical ability is defined,and relevant researches at home and abroad are summarized to provide theoretical reference for the research.The third chapter is the preparation and development of the research,which is the main content and basis of the research.This chapter illustrates the design of the questionnaire.Through the consult and arrangement of relevent literature,the paper will study the gergraphic practical ability by dividing it into four modules,including geographic experimental ability,geological observation and observation ability,geographic analytical ability as well as geographic drawing and drawing ability,and design the questionnaire of the scale according to the four modules.The research objects are the senior high school students of grade two and grade three in Guangdong Experimental Middle School.The questionnaire data firstly uses SPSS software to carry out reliability and discrimination test,and shows the results and discrimination degree of the questionnaire data by using a radar graph.In the fourth chapter,based on the study results of the questionnaire data,the reason of the results is analyzed point by point,combining with the current situation of teaching in the senior high school department of Guangdong Experimental Middle School.The fifth chapter puts forward the corresponding promotion strategies of geography practical ability and explains the strategies on the basis of theory as well as cases.The sixth chapter mainly elaborates the conclusions of the research,summarizes the shortcomings of the paper and look forward to its prospects in the future.
