Textbooks play a vital role in the teaching Chinese as a second language.And in recent years,the overseas schools have generally reflected that the common Chinese textbooks cannot meet the needs of the local Chinese learners.,therefore many scholars accordingly proposed the nationalization and localization of the compilation of the textbooks.The development of Chinese teaching in Myanmar is thriving,however,the situation of Chinese teaching is complicated,and there are still some problems existing in teaching.As far as the textbooks are concerned,they have always been a prominent problem in the Chinese teaching of Chinese in Myanmar.So the call for the localized language textbooks has always been high in the seminar on Chinese teaching in Myanmar.In the process of my teaching practice in a primary school,it has been found that the Chinese primary schools in the Myanmar taung-gyi have a certain scale,and the choice for textbooks is also altered with the development of Chinese teaching in Chinese schools.Aimed at the demands for localized language textbooks under the Chinese School's native language teaching mode,this paper does a research between the newly published Chinese textbook in Taiwan entitled "Chinese textbook" for Myanmar,which is selected as the teaching textbooks,and the overseas Chinese textbooks "Learning Chinese " published in mainland.Their characteristics and the relevant reasons are respectively further analyzed and explained by comparing them in terms of different aspects.Finally,based on the above statements,the author's Chinese teaching practice in Myanmar and the feedback from the questionnaire,some suggestions are put forward for the compilation of the native Chinese textbooks in Myanmar.There are six parts in this paper.The first part includes the introduction,which mainly elaborated on the reasons why the author did such a research and the significance of the research,the research object and the research method,and the related literature review of both the localization of teaching Chinese textbooks and teaching Chinese as a foreign language studies in Myanmar.The second part is about the basic situation of Chinese teaching in Chinese schools of north Burmese,highlighting the particularity of Chinese teaching in Myanmar and about the analysis of the feasibility of localized teaching textbooks.In the third part,the author makes a comparative analysis of the writing concepts and the overall compilation of the twosets of textbooks in Chinese and Chinese textbooks which the Chinese school currently choose,to understand the purpose and principles of the two sets of textbooks,and the capacity and the composition elements of the whole textbooks.The fourth part is about the contrastive analysis of the language elements and the writing of the content of the text.And the concrete analysis of the two sets of language elements and the different characteristics of text content are given.Then the analysis of the feedback from teachers and students after the textbooks use and the enlightenment of the compilation for the localized Chinese textbooks are also provided.Mainly based on comparative analysis of the textbooks and the feedback analysis in the fourth part above,the fifth part summarizes the prominent characteristics of two sets of textbooks,and puts forward suggestions for compiling the localized Chinese textbooks in Myanmar by analyzing the feedback from the students and teachers surveyed.And the last part is the summary of the paper.
