Since the reform and opening up,with the sustained and rapid economic andsocial development in our country,a large number of rural surplus labor forceshave shifted to cities.Due to the household registration system and socialsecurity system,a large number of migrant workers have to leave their childrenin rural areas,thus forming a special one.A large group of rural left-behindchildren,due to the specialization of the group's family environment,has broughtabout problems related to education,society,and physical and mental health ofrural left-behind children.Extracurricular sports activities can not only enhancethe physical quality of rural left-behind children,but also promote their healthygrowth.However,there is a lack of relevant research on extracurricular sportsparticipation for rural left-behind children.This paper adopts the questionnaire survey method,literature data method,interview method and other methods to select 570 rural left-behind childrenfrom 3 schools and 3 primary schools in representative schools in Jinnan,ShanxiProvince.The basic situation of children left behind in rural areasExtracurricular Sports Participation Cognition;Extracurricular SportsParticipation Status;Rural Left-behind Children's Extra-curricular SportsParticipation: Gender Differences,School Age Differences,and Differences fromNon-Rural Left-behind Children;Rural Left-behind Children's ExtracurricularSports Participation and Family Environment,Learning Status,Life SatisfactionDegree of relevance and other aspects of research and analysis.The main conclusions of the study are as follows: 1)Rural left-behind childrenhave diverse value orientation characteristics in participating in extracurricularsports activities;2)Compared with rural non-left-behind children,ruralleft-behind children participate in extracurricular sports activities on a weeklybasis with low frequency and time.3)There is a significant difference in theparticipation of out-of-school sports participation between left-behind girls andleft-behind girls in rural areas;4)There is also a difference in time investmentand sports choice between left-behind middle school students and left-behind primary school students in extracurricular sports participation;5)Theguardian's education level and parents' migrant workers Family factors such asage and family economic status are related to the extracurricular sportsparticipation of left-behind children in rural areas;6)Good rural left-behindchildren with learning status(ie,educated status)have a high degree ofparticipation in extracurricular sports;7)Rural stay with high degree of lifesatisfaction Children participate in extracurricular sports activities with highfrequency.In response to the problems found in the study,the following suggestionswere made: 1)Establish a home-school united system,create a WeChat platform,and strengthen the interaction and collaboration between schools and ruralleft-behind children's families;2)Make full use of the school's existing sportsresources to ensure that extracurricular sports activities are carried out;3)Strengthen the re-education of rural guardians of left-behind children;4)Establish an extra-curricular sports coaching team for rural left-behind childrenand organize more colorful extracurricular sports activities.
