Sports can strengthen physical health, what's more, it can promote students' physical and mental health through different forms of activities, cultivate students' good will qualities and their taste and temperament, enrich students' culture life at school. They could have a successful and pleasure experience in activities which is good to establish their self-confidence and promote their all-round development.According to the data in 2014, the number of left-behind children has reached to 61.0255 million, which means one out of five children is left-behind children. However, the current studies are mainly about left-behind children' education problems or their physical and mental health, there are few researches on left-behind children' participation in sports activities. In view of this, this research takes Hejiang Primary School of Tianfu New Area as an example. The author adopts questionnaire, interview, data analysis and some other methods. By summarizing the studies about the problem of left-behind children both abroad and home, then investigate and analyze the current situations and problems of left-behind children participation in sports activities in Hejiang Primary School of Tianfu New Area. Then try to find out the reasons and put forward the suggestions to solve these problems.The results show that left-behind children' guardians in Hejiang Primary School of Tianfu New Area are not well-educated, their education level is low, what more, most of them belongs to cross-generation fostering; the problems in P.E class are that some of them can not focus on something or some individuals are not willing to participate in sports even join some games or activities with other children and some left-behind children are dissatisfied with the P.E class.Recess activities in Hejiang Primary School of Tianfu New Area were gradually enriched in these two years. This year the school carried out different sorts of community activities. Left-behind children join in the activities so actively. Their favorite activities are:basketball, table tennis, rubber band skipping. However, we found that they find their partners among left-behind children, or their brothers and sisters who study in different grades. They participate in sports activities outside school for two or three times a week, while most of the activities only last 21-30 minutes in the afternoon. Most of left-behind children' family are not rich, in terms of sports consumption, most of them are passive to buy sports clothing,which in order to meet the requirements of school physical education class. They don't have enough money to afford. Being lack of sports equipment, the guidance of physical education teachers, parents' support and government's support are the most important factors which influence left-behind children participation in sports activities. Due to these factors, this research will make some suggestions from aspects of the school, the guardian, the government and left-behind children, the author hope that the sport for left-behind children could get more support and let them have a healthy and comprehensive development.
