With the increasing international exchanges between China and Thailand,the development prospect of Chinese education in Thailand is also getting better and better.Chinese language education in middle schools has been the focus of promotion of Thailand's basic Chinese education which has attracted many scholars' attention.However,the research direction at this stage is mostly concentrated in the central and southern parts of Thai which have prosperous economy and cultural.The study of Chinese education in the backward northeast region is relatively scarce.Therefore,this article takes Udon Thani Middle School's Chinese education as an entry point to analyze its advantages and disadvantages,and proposed the corresponding rationalization proposals.Through a survey of teachers and students in the 10 secondary schools in Udon Thani,founded that most secondary schools have Chinese language classes over four years.Students already have Chinese certain level;The Satrirachinuthit School which in the urban area is the Chinese Language Center of Udon Thani.The school pays great attention to Chinese lessons and popularizes Chinese to surrounding schools actively.Udon Thani's economic develops well in the northeast region which provides certain support for Chinese education.At the same time,the author also finds that there are many problems in Chinese education.First,teaching staffs are seriously under-resourced.Many schools inadequate Chinese teachers and it affects Chinese teaching quality directly.Secondly,students lose their interest in learning Chinese.Third the contents of Chinese textbook are not reasonable that do not fit students' proficiency at this stage.In order to solve the problems stated above,the author suggests that government and schools should increase their investment in Chinese elementary language education and increase the number of Chinese teachers,The Thai government should strengthen the regulation management of Chinese teaching.Teachers should improve their teaching ability to arouse students' interest in learning Chinese.The school must select suitable teaching materials according to the students' Chinese proficiency;some elementary Chinese materials' contents are too difficult and should be modified for accommodating to the students 'needs.The author hopes these suggestions are conducive to Chinese education development in Udon Thani and Northeast of Thailand.
