Mencius is a classic Confucian work which was written in the mid-late Warring States mainly to record Mencius’ and his students’ words and deeds.It was extensively double favored by private school and government,and even for some rulers respected thanks to the value of rich ideas,politics,literature,and education in this book,which become the official teaching materials in feudal times and has a far-reaching impact on the future generation.At present,the research on Mencius is mainly focused on the fields of literature,philosophy,education and social ethics,but there is little systematic research on the relationship between the educational thoughts and the Chinese language education.Therefore,on the basis of predecessors’ research,this paper is going to excavate the value of Chinese education and the enlightenment of educational thoughts of middle school teaching in Mencius,combining with the current practice of Chinese education.This article is divided into five parts,each part of the main content is:The introduction part has overviewed the value of research on Mencius from many aspects and has reviewed the situation and propensity of predecessors’ research and proposed research direction,the research significance,the research method and the thought frame for this thesis.The first chapter discusses about the educational thought of Mencius.This paper expounds the connotation of Mencius’ educational thought from two aspects of educational idea and teaching principle,and analyzes its practical significance to cultivate the consciousness of social responsibility,construct the paradigm of aesthetic personality,and shape the concept of life education,and objectively analyzes the negative elements in Mencius’ educational thoughts.The second chapter discusses the value of Chinese education in Mencius.Starting from three angles of Chinese teaching view,Chinese teaching principle and Chinese teaching paradigm,and deeply explores the value of Chinese education contained in Mencius,and probes into the enlightenment of Mencius’ educational thoughts of middle school Chinese teaching.The third chapter discusses the enlightenment of Mencius’ educational thoughts on the implementation of Chinese teaching in middle schools.Starting from the present situation of Chinese teaching in middle schools and briefly analyzes the typical problems existing in the teaching of Chinese reading,writing and oral communication,probes into the inspiration of Mencius’ educational thoughts to the teaching of each section of middle school Chinese education,and puts forward some improvement and strategies from the angle of educators and researchers.The conclusion part makes a simple comb for the writing thread of this paper and sums up the theoretical and practical significance of the education thoughts of Mencius in the middle school Chinese teaching in the above chapters,hoping that the Chinese educators and researchers in the middle schools can prove the value of the ancient excellent educational thoughts and constantly grope for the new thinking and new directions of the reform of Chinese education.
