Since ancient times,heroes have always been admired and eulogized by people.As heroes of role models,they are exemplary,and they are of great significance in the development of secondary school students.Therefore,there are quite a few articles about heroes in Philology teaching materials for secondary schools.The characteristics,the selection and the significance of the heroic images appearing in the Philology teaching materials are the focus of this study.The introduction part lays a solid foundation for the writing of the entire article.Through the retrieval of the existing literature,the author finds that most of the research results about hero images are researches on hero concepts and hero education,and few articles on hero images in Philology teaching materials are studied.Studying heroes in Philology teaching materials is not only beneficial to the compilation of textbooks,but also conducive to teachers' teaching and students' learning.It is of great significance.The first chapter mainly studies the overall characteristics of the hero image in the secondary school Philology teaching materials.There are many versions of Philology teaching materials.The author selects three Philology teaching materials that are widely used and authoritative.They are the textbooks for the junior and senior high schools of the People's Education Press,Beijing Normal University,and the Philology version.Through the study of the hero images appearing in Philology teaching materials,the four characteristics of hero images are summarized:wisdom,bravery,vision,and daring to sacrifice.Each feature serves as a separate section.Because these four characteristics are more extensive,the characteristics of the hero's image are further defined in each subsection.The second chapter focuses on the selection and compilation of hero images in Philology teaching materials for secondary schools.The contents of the heroic images in the Philology teaching materials for the three editions of the People's Education Press,Beijing Normal University,and the Philology version are moderate in the overall content.And in these heroic images,the proportion of knowledge heroes and Philology heroes is relatively large,and female heroes are relatively few.The article on heroes in Philology teaching materials is selected because the selected texts in the textbooks must meet the requirements of the Philology curriculum standards;However,the selection of heroic images in Philology teaching materials is not perfect.There are still some problems in the selection and compilation of the textbooks,that is,the uneven distribution of numbers and the imbalance of gender ratios.In response to this problem,the author also puts forward relevant suggestions.The third chapter mainly analyzes the meaning of the hero in the secondary school Philology teaching materials.The hero images chosen in the Philology teaching materials for secondary schools are numerous,because the hero image itself contains rich humanity and admirable qualities.These qualities make heroes like lighthouses.Even in the darkness,they can emit dazzling light,guiding humans to repel storms and move forward.The reason why secondary school Philology teaching materials attach importance to the selection of heroic images is because the heroic image has many aspects.First of all,the heroic image plays an important educational function in the daily language teaching.Secondly,the ethical significance of the heroic image is also very prominent.
