Research On Social Work Involvement In Community After-Hours Childcare Services

As one of current after-hours childcare modes in China,childcare services have gradually evolved from the original community self-organizing to the government leading and social community participating.With the support of government finance and the introduction of various social resources,community services have solved the hardware problems,such as lacking funds,activity venues and service content,but how to improve service quality with the support of adequate hardware conditions will need entities to practice and develop.The involvement of social work has made the child-oriented development.Based on their needs,they have formulated clear development goals and used scientific and professional methods to help children meet their needs and get rid of difficulties.Giving full play to the advantages of social work is conducive to providing children with better services and promoting the comprehensive development of children.This paper focuses on the development of social work involving in children's community childcare services.First of all,for the problem of community childcare services paying no attention to children's development needs,we introduce the theory of development resources and theoretically demonstrate the role of social work in the promotion of children ' s development in terms of professional methods,functions,and professionalism of social workers.And we also analyze the advantage of social work involving in this service.Secondly,taking the Y community summer childcare service as a specific case,we analyze the implementation of social work involvement in this service,and specifically describe the case work,group work,and thematic activities of social work in the intervention process.And we also analyze the effectiveness of social work involvement and the change of the service concept,the expanding of the service,the improvement of the service quality through the intervention of social work,the increasing of children' s achievement motivation,homework,responsibility,self-restraint,sense of mission,and the development of active internal development resources and external development resources for community service,community duties,peer model,and group activities.At the same time,in the intervention process,there are practical difficulties caused by the deviation of parents' and children's needs,the lack of personal professional qualities and experience,and the incompleteness of the government taking in the social work intervention mechanism.Finally,in response to the practical difficulties of social work,we put forward the proposal of promoting the involvement of social work in this service;we shall strengthen the contact with parents to improve the development of this service;we shall enhance the professional quality of social workers to ensure the service quality;the government should introduce a social worker team and implement structural social worker embedding to improve the service model,so that we can promote the involvement of social work in this service and provide better services.However,the structured embedding model of the " Staying Social Worker Intern and Full-time Social Worker and Social Worker Supervisor " by the author is only an idea,and it needs the further testing in practice.
