Good teaching effects depend on good teaching methods. The "Multi-Feedback Teaching Method",based on information theory, system theory and cybernetics,is a multi-directional information transfer teaching method that completes learning tasks through information exchange and interaction among various subsystems(teachers,students,textbooks,multimedia,etc.).Unlike traditional expository teaching method,it highlights information exchange between teaching and learning, and timely feedback. The one-way information flow in the class is thus shifted to a multi-directional pattern. In this way,multi-feedback among various subsystems are realized under the guidance of the teacher. In this study, the "Multi-Feedback Teaching Method" was applied to basketball teaching. We used literature consultation, expert interview, questionnaire, experimental method and mathematical statistics.Subjects were undergraduate students from Central China Normal University but they were not from the institute of Physical Education. Two classes were selected for this experiment. One of them used the multi-feedback teaching method and the other used the traditional one.Independent variable of the experiment was the multivariate feedback method. The dependent variables were the students'physical quality, interest in sports learning, learning motivation, basketball technique evaluation and final exam results.Control variables were the teaching staff, teaching tasks and progress, fields and equipment, initial level of physical fitness and basketball basis. After a semester of study, the statistics of the students from two groups were analyzed and discussed before and after the experiment in terms of physical fitness, interest in sports learning, motivation for learning, basketball skills evaluation and basketball final exam results. Conclusions were drawn as follows.1.After the experiment, there was no significant difference in physical fitness between the experimental group and the control group, indicating that the use of Multi-Feedback Teaching Method has no obvious effect on the improvement of students'physical fitness.2.After the experiment, there was a significant difference in students'interest in physical education between the two groups---the experimental group was higher than the control group, indicating that the Multi-Feedback Teaching Method can arouse students'interest in physical education.3.After the experiment, the experimental group was higher than the control group in terms of learning motivation.Compared with the traditional teaching method, the Multi-Feedback Teaching Method was more conducive to the cultivation of students'learning motivation.4.After the experiment, the results of experimental group were higher than those of the control group in terms of skill evaluation. There was a significant difference between the two groups. The Multi-Feedback Teaching Method in the experimental group enables students to standardize technical movements, find and correct their own wrong movements through video feedback in time. This will greatly improve the basketball techniques.5.After the experiment, there was a significant difference in the final exam scores between the two groups of students. The Multi-Feedback Teaching Method aroused the enthusiasm and initiative of students' learning, thus the basketball scores of students in the experimental group were enormously improved.
